Secret Studio Presents Mark Sims and Friends featuring Bee Humana.
Mark Sims will be playing a set of original indie-folk-rock with accompaniment from Johnny Polanski on percussion. His songs are honest and straightforward reflections on being a parent, grieving the loss of loved ones and aging. His fingerpicking style draws on old influences like Merle Travis and Chet Atkins as well as contemporary artists like Elliott Smith and Big Thief.
Bee Humana is a truly unique band with an exciting mix of Jazz, Flamenco, Folk and classical sounds. Beautiful melodies and expert musicianship transport the listener to another world, one where Elis Regina and Carlos Jobim are sitting in with Cat Stevens and the Dirty Three in some mysterious cafe.
Located in the heart of Franklinton, Secret Studio is a recording studio, arts space and concert venue owned and operated by local artists – poet Amy Turn Sharp and musician and audio engineer Keith Hanlon.
