An unabashed dilettante, Troy Kunkler is a multi-instrumentalist, specializing in percussion. He performs in a number of local bands, such as October Ember, The Digs, The San Francisco Threesome, Marvin The Robot, The Doug Hare Trio, Dystopian Electric Trio and The Francis Bacon Band. Troy studied percussion at Ohio University with Roger Braun and Guy Remonko.

Athens, Ohio based singer-songwriter Megan Bee’s work has been called “as real as it gets”.  Her album Cottonwood was listed in the best of 2022 by Americana UK and No Depression Magazine. Her music is a blend of distinctly homespun vocals, acoustic simplicity, yearning soulfulness, and winsome storytelling. Check out their website!

Adam Remnant:

Adam Remnant is a songwriter, musician, producer, and educator who lives and works in Southeast Ohio.  Adam got his start fronting the folk-rock band Southeast Engine. As the principal singer and songwriter of the band, Remnant and his bandmates garnered critical acclaim from publications such as NPR, Paste Magazine, Pitchfork, American Songwriter, and many more. Remnant continues making music under his own name today. Adam has released the 2016 EP, When I Was a Boy, as well as the 2018 LP, Sourwood. Remnant’s signature baritone voice and literary songwriting act as the focal point in the productions. Check out their website!

Caitlin Kraus:

Originally from Columbus, OH, Caitlin Kraus is a singer and songwriter living in Athens, OH. Kraus has performed her music solo and with a band over the past decade. Her music is melodic, largely lyric-based, and falls within indie-folk/alternative genres.  In 2020, Caitlin completed her first full-length album What Rises followed by the 2023 release Gone Beyond. When not writing music or performing, Caitlin works as a counselor and music therapist for adults in the mental health field. Check out their website!

Born in Freetown Sierra Leone, Mark moved to boarding school in Ghana at 11. On Mfantsipim school campus in Ghana, Mark was a ‘foreign’ student blessed to absorb some of the language and culture of Ghana. From Ghana he came straight to college at Otterbein in Westerville – which was an even more foreign experience – but Columbus became home, and Mark has lived and performed in Ohio ever since.

Mark is the lead singer of The ARK Band. For this solo show he’ll play acoustic roots storytelling music that draws from Reggae Country and African influences.

The Blankety Blanks lineup features Matt Wilson on pedal steel, and B3, Chris Jones on bass, Jeff Passafiume on Lead Guitar and 12-string and Adam Darlin on drums.

Jeff German & The Blankety Blanks music can best be described as “Midwest music for the working class.”  He creates an eclectic mix of musical styles – country, punk, rock, bluegrass, gospel – and melds them into a blue-collar brand of Americana all his own.   

The band has recorded and released four albums on the indie label Slothrop Records. His latest collaboration with the Blankety Blanks is his 5th studio album recorded at Sonic Lounge Studios in Ohio and engineered by the great Joe Viers. Jeff German is a true songwriter and wordsmith and a darling of many critics. One review stated, “Jeff seems unable to compose a bad song and with these releases does nothing but confirm it.”

Whirlybirds is a modern swing group from Columbus comprised of musicians with a variety of backgrounds, including jazz, funk, R&B, and even punk rock. Whirlybirds put their own modern pop and jazz spin on a combination of original swing music, Dixieland, and Big Band era standards.

The songs were written with purpose and are each accompanied by a short film/video created by Lydia. The show is crafted with close attention to detail including pre-recorded sound effects setting moods, and for changing of instruments among the group. Their sound is a twist of swampy pop, and indie singer/songwriter, with electronic undertones.

Still with catchy hooks and the memorable choruses that Lydia is known for, the songs feel explicitly poignant, and deal with the often bipolar mix of emotion that is our collective human experience. Thoughtfully twisted with beauty and rage, there’s an underlying theme which is the blessing and curse (not unlike the metaphorical albatross around one’s neck) that plagues artists everywhere.
