DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents Donna Mogavero on Charlie’s Stage as our December happening hour residency every Friday.. For this show\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated.  \nDonna Mogavero is a singer/songwriter and professional entertainer. Donnas’ musical recognition of 30+ years began in high school. In the early ‘90’s she was recognized and awarded several Columbus Music Awards in categories of outstanding rock and folk vocalist\, artist deserving higher recognition\, acoustic solo performer and recording artist. \n In the late 1990’s she wrote The Streets Where I Live. This song gave the listener a vivid description of what life looked and felt like in what is now known as “the art district” called The Short North before renovation of the area in early 2000. Shortly after that\, with a little tweaking the song was used by Experience Columbus to promote and market Columbus\, Ohio. She was the first woman Grand Marshall in 2015 for Columbus’s Italian Festival. She had her own Sunday Radio Show called the Acoustic Coffee House on Cd(101) now 92.9 from 1991-’95 and 1998-2000. \nShe recently released her long awaited fourth original Cd The End Of the Drive\,  a compilation of songs that tell many stories flavored in rock\, country\, folk yet signature Donna Mogavero style. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s\, with support from the Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA)\, presents Bourbon & Blues Happy Hour featuring Deuce ‘n a Quarter. This monthly series\, held on the second Wednesday of each month\, will include a special guest for each show\, and there will be rotating bourbon and other happy hour specials as well!   \n \nDecember’s special guest is 2023 Columbus Blues Challenge solo winner\, Joe Waters. Joe is a multi talented musician out of Dayton Ohio who plays Blues\, Funk\, Folk\, and Americana music. Joe is a singer and a songwriter. He writes original music and he also pays homage to original blues artist by singing old blues standards and deep cuts. His love for playing music started when he was 5 years old after his parents bought him a harmonica from the Cracker Barrel gift shop. Joe dedicated himself to learning not only the harmonica but the guitar\, drums\, and vocals as well. Joe’s father\, Jack Waters\, has been a musician for 35+ years and Joe expresses his gratitude for his father starting him in his music career. As a duo\, Jack and Joe have performed together for 20 years with 4 albums recorded\, they have placed 1st in three local Ohio blues contest\, and they were semi-finalist in the International Blues Contest. Although Joe’s recent focus has been the new EP he is recording with his band\, he still loves to play music with his father any time he can. The new EP\, by Joe Waters and The Back Porch Band\, shows off Joe’s skills as a musician as well as his skills as a songwriter. Other recent events for Joe Waters include winning the 2022 Telluride Blues Challenge which awarded him a spot on the Durango Blues Train and th e opening show of the 2023 Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. Joe Waters is pouring his creative expression into the EP with his band and a Solo Album that he is excited to share with you all! He hopes to have both the EP and Solo Album done by the end of this year and those who have heard this young man are eagerly awaiting his next creation.  \nDeuce n a Quarter is a celebrated central Ohio based blues band comprised of Andre Scott (drums)\, Martin O. Brown (bass & vocals)\, Keven Jones (keyboard)\, Keith Colbert (guitar) and Brian Peters (lead vocals & harmonica). The band and its members have a list of credits as performing artists and studio musicians. They are two-time Ohio Music Award winners\, two-time Columbus Blues Challenge winners and two-time International Blues Challenge finalists. The band’s forte is its original\, blues-based music where you’ll hear the influence of blues\, country\, soul\, and gospel. They have a long list of noteworthy performances at festivals\, night clubs and music venues…  where they’re always the crowd favorite. \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents Donna Mogavero on Charlie’s Stage as our December happening hour residency every Friday.. For this show\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated.  \nDonna Mogavero is a singer/songwriter and professional entertainer. Donnas’ musical recognition of 30+ years began in high school. In the early ‘90’s she was recognized and awarded several Columbus Music Awards in categories of outstanding rock and folk vocalist\, artist deserving higher recognition\, acoustic solo performer and recording artist. \n In the late 1990’s she wrote The Streets Where I Live. This song gave the listener a vivid description of what life looked and felt like in what is now known as “the art district” called The Short North before renovation of the area in early 2000. Shortly after that\, with a little tweaking the song was used by Experience Columbus to promote and market Columbus\, Ohio. She was the first woman Grand Marshall in 2015 for Columbus’s Italian Festival. She had her own Sunday Radio Show called the Acoustic Coffee House on Cd(101) now 92.9 from 1991-’95 and 1998-2000. \nShe recently released her long awaited fourth original Cd The End Of the Drive\,  a compilation of songs that tell many stories flavored in rock\, country\, folk yet signature Donna Mogavero style. Sticking to traditional roots the Lads bring a fire and excitement that is quickly winning over audiences.  With the release of their 4th album\, Everyone In\, and the notable camaraderie and genuineness that flows from their live performances\, the future continues to look bright for these Lads.  Ohio brothers John and Daniel McKewen\, father and son Phil and Josh Franck\, and lifelong friend Bryan Brookes bring to the stage a concoction of “we dare you to hold still” Irish dance tunes as well as a full emotional gamut of songs and good humor.  Their authentic approach and deep enjoyment of people is a refreshing surprise to both casual music-lovers and those steeped in hardcore Trad. \nEach Lad is a multi-instrumentalist\, and the combined lineup includes fiddle\, button accordion\, tenor banjo\, flute\, whistle\, guitar\, bouzouki\, Uilleann pipes\, 5-string banjo\, concertina\, and bodhran. And just by showing up you’ll be supporting an incredible cause because a portion of ticket sales go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital! \nThe evening will also feature a charity raffle with items from Dave Buker & The Historian’s\, Natalies and Jesse Hubbard with the entirety of the money from the raffle going to St. Jude as well. \nSo\, mark your calendars and be sure to join us on December 16th for the Saint Russell’s Holiday Bash! \n\nDave Buker & the Historians: based in Columbus\, OH\, Dave Buker and the historians have been spreading their brand of americana since 2010. After performing at 2017’s Bunbury music festival\, which also featured death cab for cutie and the shins\, they won cd92.9fm’s local artist contest\, were featured by American songwriter magazine\, and opened for spoon\, alvvays\, and the aces. But as was true for many musicians\, the covid-19 pandemic slowed the band’s momentum\, and they chose to focus on writing and recording new music. The result is heirlooms\, the band’s first album of original music since 2019’s it moves in the dark. \nThe album is a change of pace that saw the band collaborate with new audio engineers and cultivate a more modern and energetic approach. Music blog tuned up recognized this in the album’s first single\, “Stubborn Blood”\, saying – “right out of the gate\, I’m struck by the driving nature of the song and the crunch of the guitars. This is somewhat unexpected for Buker\, an americana influenced indie artist that has been prolific in the Columbus scene for years.” The single was accompanied by a music video that pays homage to 80’s slasher films and emphasizes the more aggressive approach to the music. \nHeirlooms’ ten tracks show a different side of Dave Buker and the historians\, at once less organic and more intimate and urgent\, while maintaining the lyrical textures and vocal harmonies that have come to define the band. Check out their website! \nOctober Ember: Sometimes playful\, sometimes poignant\, October Ember is comprised of Jennifer Dutiel and Kevin Holland\, a multi-instrumentalist couple with a penchant for the quirky and the beautiful. A cross-pollination of folk\, indie lounge\, Euro Cafe\, art pop\, and punk cabaret\, their exploration of odd time signatures\, neo-minimalist pulses\, ethereal timbres\, and vast dynamic spectra transmutes ontology into sound. They were featured on the Emmy-award winning television show Broad & High after their 2019 Tiny Desk Contest video submission for the song “Waves” attracted the attention of the show’s producers. They release new music regularly and perform frequently across central Ohio. Since 2021\, they’ve been livestreaming multiple times per week on Twitch\, where they’ve built a global audience and community. In 2000\, he released the critically acclaimed “Burnin Grooves”\, and the international success of the recording served as the catalyst for regional and national tours.
