DESCRIPTION:The Hayes Griffin / Paul Brown duo (featuring Hayes Griffin and Paul Brown) belongs in that John Hartford(ish) space between musical genres.  The feel of the music is often Old-Timey but the presentation seems more like Bluegrass with their emphasis on “hot” lead playing.  The duo also demonstrates that\, contrary to common stereotypes\, baby boomers and millennials can peacefully coexist. \nWhen he’s not busy polishing his bookcase full of participation trophies\, watching YouTube videos about how to change a light bulb\, or eating avocado toast\, the millennial Hayes manages to find time to do some world class mandolin and guitar playing.    When not browbeating younger generations\, talking incessantly about his 401k\, and destroying the environment\, baby boomer Paul hones his chops on fiddle and banjo.   \nThis impressive pair of musicians makes exciting music while simultaneously soothing longstanding intergenerational conflicts.    Worth a listen!  \nRESERVATIONS: Reservations are strongly encouraged for our free Happening Hour Shows!

DESCRIPTION:Join a night of original music from area singer songwriters hosted by Ron Freeman.  \nShiloh Hawkins is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for her organic songwriting approach\, emotive vocals and captivating storytelling. A native of Youngstown\, Ohio\, her musical career has taken her as far away as Austin\, Texas. Being in a new city inspired Shiloh to create tracks such as “Put the Coffee On” and “Honey Bee\,” but the pull of home brought her back to Ohio where she has settled in Columbus. Her latest album\, “When You Love A Traveler” is an evolutionary breakaway from previous work\, percussive and raw\, drawing inspiration from 1960s and 70s Americana\, Folk\, Jazz\, and Country. The 13 track LP was released in March 2019. A new record is in the works and will be released in Spring of 2024 with Hawkins’ band\, Common Blue Violets.  \nLuke Harris has been writing and performing in Columbus\, Ohio for over 15 years. He is currently the frontman for both Playing to Vapors and Summon Luke. His music is a blend of rock\, pop\, alternative and occasionally folk with fantastical and tragic lyrics. His band Summon Luke has released multiple singles in the past year\, most recently the song “Caroline”. \nRon Freeman is a singer/songwriter and member of Lost Orchards\, a Columbus\, Ohio Americana band with two EPs: “Deaf Kids” and “Assassins”\, a concept record about the love affairs of presidential assassins. Ron’s songs have been described as “strange\,” “cerebral\,” and “like a really good ice cream cone that melts faster than you can eat it.” With a fresh perspective and a lyric-driven approach\, Ron is a natural storyteller who chronicles unique subjects like the invention of the high five\, the closing of restaurants\, and Civil War era religious cults. He is really hoping the full length album he has been working on forever comes out soon. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.
