DESCRIPTION:Dale Watson makes a rare solo appearance to celebrate his latest album Starvation Box\, along with special guest Matt Hillyer. Watson has flown the flag for classic honky-tonk for over two decades. He’s christened his brand of American roots “Ameripolitan” to differentiate it from current crop of Nashville-based pop country. The Alabama-born\, Texas-raised Watson may be the hardest working entertainer today and is rapidly approaching legendary status.  He is a country music maverick\, a true outlaw who stands alongside Waylon Jennings\, Willie Nelson\, and George Strait as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State. \nIn the late 19th century\, a budding young musician by the name of Huddie William Ledbetter left his home after his father sought to discourage the boy’s artistic ambitions by referring to Huddie’s guitar as a “starvation box\,” cursed to bring only poverty and famine. That young man would go on to have an unimaginably profound impact on music\, becoming internationally recognized as folk blues pioneer Lead Belly. Over a hundred years later\, Lead Belly’s musical lineage continues\, and his story still provides inspiration for artists\, including country outlaw and fellow Texan Dale Watson with his new acoustic album that puts Watson’s own starvation box front and center.  \nOpening the show is Matt Hillyer\, the former lead singer-songwriter for the now disbanded and legendary honky-tonk band Eleven Hundred Springs\, who played countless shows around the world\, released over a dozen albums\, and had become the standard for what a swingin’ Texas country band should be. For Hillyer\, the ending of his beloved band wasn’t the closing of his own musical road. DESCRIPTION:The Wildwoods are an enchanting Folk/Americana trio based in Lincoln\, Nebraska\, whose flowing songwriting tandem has been praised by Paste Magazine as “focused and charmingly human”. The Wildwoods’ delicate melodies and descriptive lyrics come from nature\, love\, experiences from the road\, and growing up in Nebraska. \nIn 2016\, 2017\, 2018\, 2021\, and 2022 The Wildwoods were nominated by the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards as a top Americana/Folk artist in Nebraska\, and in 2022 they were named “Best Band” by the Lincoln Journal Star’s ‘Lincoln’s Choice Awards’. The group’s musical momentum continues into 2023 by placing as a top 3 finalist\, with more than 1\,000 submissions from around the world\, in the Gems in The Rough contest\, hosted by popular YouTube channel GemsOnVHS. Reservations are highly recommended for this free show!\n\nAbout Mukiss:\nMukiss is the dreamy solo project of Caeleigh Featherstone. She released her debut single under the name Mukiss in 2019\, titled ‘Bruise Blue’. Since then\, she has released her first EP ‘Happy Face’ in 2020\, and several other singles over the years. Caeleigh is also a member of the Columbus-based indie-rock band Saintseneca. Mukiss’ music can be described as happy-sad songs.\n\nAbout Adam Newman:\nJoin local singer-songwriter and pianist Adam Newman as he performs songs from last year’s Sissy EP as well as songs from his forthcoming album Build A Fire.\nAfter fronting the local band The Gospel from 2000-2006\, Newman found himself in NYC and eventually in Nashville\, working at Blackbird Studios after finishing studying at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe\, Ohio.\n\nIt was there where the seeds for his 2015 EP Get Out The Dark were planted\, which saw Newman working with legendary producer and engineer Kevin Killen ( Bowie\, Kate Bush\, U2) and guitarist Gerry Leonard (Bowie\, Rufus Wainwright).\n\nFor 2022’s Sissy\, Newman enlisted Keith Hanlon of Secret Studio in Columbus\, OH to handle the recording while enlisting bandmates from his earlier band The Gospel to help bring the songs to life. In November\, he’ll be releasing a new record\, recorded again at Secret Studio\, titled Build A Fire.\n\nAbout Secret Studio:\nLocated in the heart of Franklinton\, Secret Studio is a recording studio\, arts space and concert venue owned and operated by local artists – poet Amy Turn Sharp and musician and audio engineer Keith Hanlon.

Can ya dig it? \n \nIMBER SOLIS: Artist-to-watch Imber Solis is a Vintage Pop Soul singer based in Columbus\, Ohio that has been steadily on the rise since 2021\, performing all over central Ohio and recently smashing a performance at the Hard Rock Café at Myrtle Beach for “Women Who Rock Wednesdays”.   She’s released 11 songs including a Christmas EP and 7 singles\, and her latest venture is with the Billboard charting producer Phinestro\, releasing the vintage-soul inspired song “Keep it Simple”\, and will soon be releasing the soulful and introspective ballad titled “The Looking Glass”\, which echoes her passions about the importance of mental health and will be on her album of the same name. Imber is backed by some of the best musicians Ohio has to offer with co-writer Scott Lee on keys\, Jesse Marquardt on percussion\, John Clendening on bass\, Mike Folker on guitar\, and Aaron Jude on sax. \n \nTHE DIGS: are a band from Columbus\, OH specialized in performing early Rock n Roll and Classic R&B music. Formed in 2013\, The Digs have been thrilling audiences around central Ohio and beyond with their high energy performances and classic sounds. They present their interpretations of a wide variety of tunes from David Bowie\, Paul McCartney\, Steely Dan\, and muhh more. DESCRIPTION:Donna The Buffalo is not just a band\, rather one might say that Donna The Buffalo has become a lifestyle for its members and audiences. Since 1989\, the roots rockers have played thousands of shows and countless festivals including Bonnaroo\, Newport Folk Festival\, Telluride\, Austin City Limits Festival\, Merle Fest\, and Philadelphia Folk Festival. \nThey’ve opened for The Dead and have toured with Peter Rowan\, Del McCoury\, Los Lobos\, Little Feat\, Jim Lauderdale\, Rusted Root\, and Railroad Earth to name a few. They also toured with Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen to help raise awareness about increased corporate spending in politics. \nIn 1991\, the band started the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg\, NY. The four day festival has become an annual destination for over 15\,000 music lovers every year and was started as an AIDS benefit. It continues as a benefit for arts and education. To date\, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and is now one of three Grassroots Festivals; the Bi-annual Shakori Hills fest in North Carolina and Virginia Key festival in Florida. Once we learned how to play\, we did get signed to Epic Records and do damn near every single thing a rock n roll band can do. Except have a hit song. It’s quite a tale.   \nIn fact\, you can read all about it in the best selling memoir “Hitless Wonder- A Life in Minor League Rock n Roll” which was released in 2012 and National Public Radio called it one of the two best books of the summer. It rose to #1 on the Amazon music book charts. (!) As of 2022\, Watershed is still recording and playing shows. \n In the meantime\, I also record and perform as a solo artist. With his energetic and quick wit\, he has audiences all wanting more.  \n \nLisa Ann the Glam Ham is a salty chunk of pork from Erie\, PA. She is the fat kid from middle school who survived\, and now she has a microphone\, a stage\, a spotlight\, and some scores to settle. When she isn’t telling colorful stories about hot dads\, fat marriages\, or stupid teenagers and their awful parents\, she can be found shaking her sizable hips on the dancefloor\, deadlifting in the gym\, or arm-wrestling men for drinks.   \n \nOn Dec 20\, 2013\, JR Junior began doing stand-up comedy and hasn’t looked back providing audiences across the Midwest with\, “Clean Comedy Dirty as you Like.” Since then\, he has been able to feature for some of the hottest acts in the country\, but with the release of his debut special “12 Plays” he wants to prove he is the next Ohio comic to break out. DESCRIPTION:Bobby Floyd and Paisha Thomas present\, Testimony Service. We’re heading back to our Black Church roots where musicians learned to play in every key\, thanks to what we call Testimony Service. Testimony service is about people in the congregation telling stories of overcoming trials\, receiving blessings despite their many challenges\, and singing gospel music rich with emotion and perseverance. Just like with the Blues\, when you sing these uplifting gospel songs\, your trials seem to melt away and you find “your help”. Joined by Debra James Tucker and Karen Hewitt\, for the gospel harmonies we grew up on\, and the band Tyrone Collier on bass and Reggie Jackson on drums.  \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence\, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music\, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations. \nSoul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month. Seating for The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 1:30 pm\, with showtime at 2:30 pm presenting the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert hosted by Debra James Tucker. The evening show\, hosted by Qamil\, features a variety of Soul bands. In addition to the regular menu\, enjoy a “Soul Food” special created just for this series! \nFood & Bar: Our full bar and a special brunch menu will be available before and during the show. Our kitchen will close from 4pm-5pm to prepare for our evening dining service.

SUMMARY:The Suitcase Junket
DESCRIPTION:Matt Lorenz’s vision\, manifest in The Suitcase Junket\, developed in the tension between the grand and the solitary. Grand in its imagery\, sound\, and staging. Solitary in its thrift and self-reliance. What instruments he requires\, Lorenz builds from scratch and salvage. What parts five players would perform\, he performs alone. The spectacle of his one-man set bears constant comparison to legends of showmanship\, brilliance\, madness\, and invention. \nWhile audiences are captivated by his solitary form and the show itself\, Lorenz\, who homesteads with rescue dogs and chickens in rural Western Massachusetts\, is most serious about the songs. He has been building a catalog\, writing a world into existence. Solitary on stage and on the road\, his mind is crowded with characters\, narratives\, voices\, imagery\, sounds as wide and varied as mountain throat singers and roadhouse juke boxes\, plus newsreels of the planet’s destruction and salvage. \nWith his 2020 release\, The End is New\, Lorenz’s grand vision for the song overrides the how of it. The End is New is Lorenz’s sixth full-length album as The Suitcase Junket\, his first for Renew Records/BMG.  The sound has become more refined and deeper with each release. Lorenz tours extensively and plans to be back on the road for a waylaid release tour for The End is New in 2021. Lorenz is also a visual artist. In the early years he designed all The Suitcase Junket album art and merchandise and made the music videos generated with his songs. He continues to create the visuals for merchandise\, and to produce some of his videos\, now with collaborators. He gets very excited about coffee\, gardening\, bees\, dogs\, birds\, mushrooms\, tinctures\, making his own wine and maple sugaring season. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.
