DESCRIPTION:The eighth full-length from singer/songwriter Jason Eady\, To The Passage Of Time first took shape in a frenetic burst of creativity back in the doldrums of quarantine. Over the course of a three-day period last August\, the Fort Worth\, Texas-based musician wrote more than half of the album\, locking himself in his bedroom and emerging only when he felt completely burnt out. “I went in thinking I was going to write just one song—but then the songs kept coming\, and I didn’t want to break the spell\,” he recalls. “I’d go to sleep with the guitar by the bed\, pick it back up when I woke up the next morning\, and do it all again. I’d never really experienced anything like that before.” \nWith its nuanced exploration of aging and loss and the fragility of life\, To The Passage Of Time arrives as the Mississippi-bred artist’s most lyrically complex and compelling work to date. As Eady reveals\, the album’s understated power stems in part from the intentionality of the recording process\, which involved enlisting Band of Heathens’ Gordy Quist as producer and gathering many of Eady’s favorite musicians he’s played with over the years (including Noah Jeffries on mandolin and fiddle\, Mark Williams on upright bass and cello\, and Geoff Queen on Dobro\, pedal steel\, and lap steel). “I really love egoless players—people who know how to serve the song\,” notes Eady\, who recorded at The Finishing School in Austin and made ample use of the studio’s goldmine of vintage gear. “We started every song with just me on guitar\, and if someone felt like they had a part to add\, they had to come forward and say what they heard there. Everything was built from the ground up\, and because of that there’s no filler—nobody playing to show off or take up space.” \nOn the album’s exquisite centerpiece “French Summer Sun”—a devastating epic astoundingly captured in the very first take—Eady shares one of his most riveting pieces of storytelling yet. “My grandfather fought at the Battle of Anzio in Italy in World War II\, and a few years ago on tour I went to visit the beach where the battle took place\,” says Eady. “I was struck by how small the beach was—I realized that if my grandfather had made one wrong move he would’ve been killed\, and I wouldn’t be standing there thinking those thoughts. I ended up writing this song about how when someone dies in war\, it isn’t just killing that person: it’s killing the generations of people who would have come from them.” Building to a shattering plot twist in its final moments\, “French Summer Sun” drifts between its somberly sung chorus and spoken-word verses\, attaining an unlikely transcendence as Eady sheds equally poignant light on the horror of war and the ephemeral beauty of everyday life. \nLooking back on the making of To The Passage Of Time\, Eady points to such unexpected moments as the recording of the album-opening “Nothing On You.” “Apart from my guitar\, the only two instruments on that song are cello and steel guitar—which is a combination I’d never heard before\, and gave it a whole new character that took my breath away\,” he says. But for the most part\, Eady achieved a rare outcome in the album’s production: a direct expression of his deep-rooted and highly specific vision. “I write my songs on acoustic guitar\, so sometimes in the studio things take different turns and end up not really matching with what you had in your head\,” says Eady. “But because of the approach we took with this album\, there’s hardly anything that came out different from what I’d envisioned. This is 100 percent the album I hoped I would make.” \nMidnight River Choir \n\n\n\nWebsite\n\nThe formation of Midnight River Choir was nothing short of a force of nature that now translates seamlessly during their live shows. This band needs no labels or comparisons. Their music speaks volumes about who and what they are. Their lives have been woven together by a strong thread of energy both on and off stage. He has shared the stage with Chuck Berry\, Bo Diddley\, Mary Travers and Christine Lavin. He’s a pioneer in the Columbus music scene\, including a founder of Six String Concerts. His CD releases are Home to the Heart\, and Looking for You. \nKeith’s song\, “Hold On\,” won the People’s Choice Award in the Nashville Songwriters Association International/Country Music Television songwriting competition. He is a two-time selection to Songwriter Serenade\, finishing as a finalist and semi-finalist. For the very first time on Alligator\, he decided to bring his road-tested band—noted keyboardist and songwriter Jeff Paris (Keb’ Mo’\, Bill Withers)\, bassist Nathan Brown\, and drummer Rena Beavers—into the studio with him. SUMMARY:The Ocean Blue with Tallies - SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:The Ocean Blue arrived as the 1980s drew to close\, and their debut record on the famed Sire Records label in 1989 seemed to summarize the best of the passing musical decade. With the release of The Ocean Blue\, the band of four teenagers from Hershey\, Pennsylvania quickly achieved widespread acclaim and radio & MTV airplay with top 10 Modern Rock/College Radio hits like Between Something and Nothing\, Drifting\, Falling\, and Vanity Fair. They followed their debut with the dreamy and atmospheric Cerulean\, which includes perhaps their most beloved song\, Ballerina Out of Control.\n\nTheir third Sire release and highest charting pop album Beneath the Rhythm and Sound featured the single Sublime\, with a video of the band in the sublime landscape of Iceland. The band’s fourth major label album on Mercury/PolyGram\, See The Ocean Blue\, delved into wider 60s and 70s stylings but with the band’s 80s DNA peeking through.\nThe band left the majors in the late 90s and released several independent records in the ensuing decade\, including 2000’s Davy Jones Locker and 2004’s Waterworks.  In 2013\, after a long hiatus and much anticipation\, the band released their first full length record in a decade\, Ultramarine\, on Korda Records\, a label cooperative the band helped launch that same year. The record was a welcome return for both long-time fans of the band and a younger generation of like-minded fans\, and it garnered widespread praise as one of their very best albums. In 2015\, the band worked with Sire Records to reissue their first three albums on vinyl and did wider touring in North America and in South America\, where some of their most passionate fans reside. \nIn 2019\, the band returned with the beautifully powerful Kings and Queens / Knaves and Thieves and has continued to tour for this release and the newly re-issued vinyl of See The Ocean Blue (2022) and Davy Jones Locker (2023). \n Food & Bar: A limited food menu of pizza and fries as well as our full bar will be available before and during the show. DESCRIPTION:Dale Watson makes a rare solo appearance to celebrate his latest album Starvation Box\, along with special guest Matt Hillyer. Watson has flown the flag for classic honky-tonk for over two decades. He’s christened his brand of American roots “Ameripolitan” to differentiate it from current crop of Nashville-based pop country. The Alabama-born\, Texas-raised Watson may be the hardest working entertainer today and is rapidly approaching legendary status.  He is a country music maverick\, a true outlaw who stands alongside Waylon Jennings\, Willie Nelson\, and George Strait as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State. \nIn the late 19th century\, a budding young musician by the name of Huddie William Ledbetter left his home after his father sought to discourage the boy’s artistic ambitions by referring to Huddie’s guitar as a “starvation box\,” cursed to bring only poverty and famine. That young man would go on to have an unimaginably profound impact on music\, becoming internationally recognized as folk blues pioneer Lead Belly. Over a hundred years later\, Lead Belly’s musical lineage continues\, and his story still provides inspiration for artists\, including country outlaw and fellow Texan Dale Watson with his new acoustic album that puts Watson’s own starvation box front and center.  \nOpening the show is Matt Hillyer\, the former lead singer-songwriter for the now disbanded and legendary honky-tonk band Eleven Hundred Springs\, who played countless shows around the world\, released over a dozen albums\, and had become the standard for what a swingin’ Texas country band should be. For Hillyer\, the ending of his beloved band wasn’t the closing of his own musical road. Reservations are highly recommended for this free show!\n\nAbout Mukiss:\nMukiss is the dreamy solo project of Caeleigh Featherstone. She released her debut single under the name Mukiss in 2019\, titled ‘Bruise Blue’. Since then\, she has released her first EP ‘Happy Face’ in 2020\, and several other singles over the years. Caeleigh is also a member of the Columbus-based indie-rock band Saintseneca. Mukiss’ music can be described as happy-sad songs.\n\nAbout Adam Newman:\nJoin local singer-songwriter and pianist Adam Newman as he performs songs from last year’s Sissy EP as well as songs from his forthcoming album Build A Fire.\nAfter fronting the local band The Gospel from 2000-2006\, Newman found himself in NYC and eventually in Nashville\, working at Blackbird Studios after finishing studying at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe\, Ohio.\n\nIt was there where the seeds for his 2015 EP Get Out The Dark were planted\, which saw Newman working with legendary producer and engineer Kevin Killen ( Bowie\, Kate Bush\, U2) and guitarist Gerry Leonard (Bowie\, Rufus Wainwright).\n\nFor 2022’s Sissy\, Newman enlisted Keith Hanlon of Secret Studio in Columbus\, OH to handle the recording while enlisting bandmates from his earlier band The Gospel to help bring the songs to life. In November\, he’ll be releasing a new record\, recorded again at Secret Studio\, titled Build A Fire.\n\nAbout Secret Studio:\nLocated in the heart of Franklinton\, Secret Studio is a recording studio\, arts space and concert venue owned and operated by local artists – poet Amy Turn Sharp and musician and audio engineer Keith Hanlon.

Can ya dig it? \n \nIMBER SOLIS: Artist-to-watch Imber Solis is a Vintage Pop Soul singer based in Columbus\, Ohio that has been steadily on the rise since 2021\, performing all over central Ohio and recently smashing a performance at the Hard Rock Café at Myrtle Beach for “Women Who Rock Wednesdays”.   She’s released 11 songs including a Christmas EP and 7 singles\, and her latest venture is with the Billboard charting producer Phinestro\, releasing the vintage-soul inspired song “Keep it Simple”\, and will soon be releasing the soulful and introspective ballad titled “The Looking Glass”\, which echoes her passions about the importance of mental health and will be on her album of the same name. Imber is backed by some of the best musicians Ohio has to offer with co-writer Scott Lee on keys\, Jesse Marquardt on percussion\, John Clendening on bass\, Mike Folker on guitar\, and Aaron Jude on sax. \n \nTHE DIGS: are a band from Columbus\, OH specialized in performing early Rock n Roll and Classic R&B music. Plenty of room on the floor to disco the night away. Come in costume to be entered to win fabulous prizes and pop in the photo booth to commemorate the night forever! \nPopgun is a “super-group” consisting of some of the finest musicians in the Central Ohio area. They present their interpretations of a wide variety of tunes from David Bowie\, Paul McCartney\, Steely Dan\, and muhh more. Members of the group also perform with other outstanding bands from the area\, including the Floorwalkers\, HooDoo Soul Band\, and FLIPPO. \nBand members are Jonathan Elliott (vocals)\, Joey Hebdo (vocals)\, Dennis Hodges (guitar)\, Tony McClung (drums)\, Jeff Ciampa (bass)\, Lucas Holmes (keyboards)\, and Kevin O’Neill (saxophone). \n \nSet design and room decor by the supremely talented Lesley Raye. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents Bobby Floyd performing on the classic Hammond B3 organ with his Trio on the Charlie’s Stage\, located on the restaurant/bar side of the venue. For this dinner performance\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated. Floyd\, a Grammy nominee in 2020\, will perform with Derek DiCenzo on guitar and bass\, and Reggie Jackson on drums. Members of the group add just the right mix of talent and experience to create the elements necessary to produce an appealing sound that goes well beyond live entertainment. \nThe passion with which Floyd plays piano\, organ and keyboards are the result of his natural ability discovered at the age of two\, his love of music\, and years of practice. Whether performing jazz or gospel\, as a soloist\, with a trio or big band\, his feel is unique and inspirational leading him to many distinguished appearances around the world. Bobby has performed extensively in the U.S.\, Canada\, Europe and Japan. Touring events include major jazz festivals\, concert halls\, and numerous nightclubs with Ray Charles\, Jeff Tyzik\, The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra\, Dr. John and Byron Stripling. SUMMARY:Donna the Buffalo
DESCRIPTION:Donna The Buffalo is not just a band\, rather one might say that Donna The Buffalo has become a lifestyle for its members and audiences. Since 1989\, the roots rockers have played thousands of shows and countless festivals including Bonnaroo\, Newport Folk Festival\, Telluride\, Austin City Limits Festival\, Merle Fest\, and Philadelphia Folk Festival. \nThey’ve opened for The Dead and have toured with Peter Rowan\, Del McCoury\, Los Lobos\, Little Feat\, Jim Lauderdale\, Rusted Root\, and Railroad Earth to name a few. They also toured with Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen to help raise awareness about increased corporate spending in politics. \nIn 1991\, the band started the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg\, NY. The four day festival has become an annual destination for over 15\,000 music lovers every year and was started as an AIDS benefit. It continues as a benefit for arts and education. To date\, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and is now one of three Grassroots Festivals; the Bi-annual Shakori Hills fest in North Carolina and Virginia Key festival in Florida. In 2016 GrassRoots Culture Camp was introduced in Trumansburg\, New York as four days of music\, art\, dance and movement workshops\, including nightly dinners and dances. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents Lil’ Red & The Rooster on Charlie’s Stage. For this happy hour performance\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated. Jump-up and shake a tail feather\, or two\, ‘cause Lil’ Red & The Rooster will roll out some smooth retro modern Blues just for you. Intimately real and at times hilarious they exude a contagious charm that guarantees you’ll feel good no matter how haunting the melody or biting the message. They’re a sassy\, smokin’\, bone tremblin’ slow-burn Blues balm. \n  \nThey recently released their new album\, “Keep On!” on Blue Heart Records. This international dynamic duo has been touring around the world together since 2010. This year they were at the prestigious Cognac Blues Passion in France\, Heritage Music Blues Festival as well as Beautiful Swamp Blues featuring Dave Specter. They appeared on Songs at the Center\, were finalists in the International Blues Challenge and can be found often at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago.  \n  \nBorn in Normandy\, France in the early 60’s\, Pascal Fouquet began studying classical guitar at eleven and discovered the Blue note a few years later. Since 1980 he’s been a professional musician and never ceases to give homage to his master teachers: B.B. King\, Albert King\, T-Bone Walker\, Kenny Burrell … and many others. A multi-award-winning guitarist he’s had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists including: Diunna Greenleaf\, Dave Specter\, Mike Sanchez\, Steve Clayton\, Russell Jackson\, Candye Kane\, Alex Shultz\, Kid Ramos\, Sax Gordon\, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne and Sean Castello.  \n  \nLil’ Red\, born in Columbus\, Ohio in the late 60’s\, grew up loving Hollywood movie musicals especially Bojangles\, Gene Kelly\, Louis Armstrong\, Ella Fitzgerald and the Nicolas Brothers. Rhythm and groove have always been her deep love. She studied everything in the arts: music\, dance\, acting\, writing\, painting\, martial arts and meditation. She graduated from Fort Hayes Performing Arts High School for theater\, holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University.  \nRESERVATIONS: Reservations are strongly encouraged for our free Happy Hour Shows!
