When Tony is not performing with other bands\, running his concert series at the Columbus Museum of Art\, running the Tony Hagood Presents concert series at the McConnell Arts Center\, or leading various versions of his trio\, duo\, or playing solo an average of 6 performances a week\, he works as a staff pianist\, lecturer\, and instructor of commercial\, jazz\, and classical piano at Otterbein University\, is a staff pianist at OSU\, and accompanies Westerville South High School choirs\,.  Tony also runs his music lessons company Noteworthy Music as President & Founder which teaches lessons in students’ homes and his music booking company\, A Note Above the Rest Entertainment. \nTony’s performance experiences include playing with two time Grammy award winner Tamika Lawrenece\, playing for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Ne-Yo for their sold out picnic with the pops concert\, Playing with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra for Home for the Holidays concerts\, playing with Byron Striplings Quintet\, performing with singer songwriter and broadway actress Shayna Steele\, singer songwriter and actor Chester Gregory\, R&B Singer and Songwriter who made it the final round of American Idol Michael Lynche\, performing with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra\, big bands\, musicals\, various combo groupings\, instrumental and vocal accompanist\, cruise ship pianist\, symphony orchestra pianist\, choir accompanist and classic rock\, country\, top 40s\, R&B and more cover bands. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:Gospel Soul Brunch: E-Flat hosted by Debra James Tucker
DESCRIPTION:E-Flat was formed in 2013 by founder and bandleader David Dennis. E-Flat features some of the best musicians in Central Ohio. The members consist of David Dennis (Saxophone)\, Aaron Thomas (Bass Guitar)\, Charles Small (Keyboard) and Robert Riley (Drums). E-Flat recently backed recording artist Jermaine Dolly in concert and performed at Braxton Miller’s Launch party for his Foundation Launch. The band was featured in the Stage Play “Why Didn’t I See Her”\, written\, directed and produced by Tara Walker. During the play E-Flat had the privilege of backing Singer/Actor Anthony Grant of Tyler Perry’s “Love Thy Neighbor” and Marc Nelson of the R&B group AZYET and co-founder of Boyz II Men. E-Flat also had the distinct pleasure of providing music for Mayor Andrew Ginther’s 2020 State of the City Reception. The band plays a mix of originals\, smooth jazz\, gospel\, r&b and neo soul. E-Flat has performed at a number of venues and events\, including the Historic Lincoln Theater\, National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials event\, Newark Jazz & Rib Fest\, African American Heritage Festival\, Trailblazer’s Scholarship Luncheon\, Jack & Jill Foundation of America\, United Way of Central Ohio\, National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. and the State of Ohio Combined Charitable Campaign. E-Flat can be found throughout Ohio performing at Jazz Venues\, Art Shows\, Wedding Ceremonies\, Receptions\, Parties and Intimate Gatherings. \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence\, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music\, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations. \nSoul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month. Seating for The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 1:30 pm\, with showtime at 2:30 pm presenting the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert hosted by Debra James Tucker. The evening show\, hosted by Paisha Thomas\, features a variety of Soul bands. Gifted songwriters and multi-instrumentalists\, Vivian Leva and Riley Calcagno’s first album under the name Viv & Riley is a subtle masterpiece of thought and reflection. The album brings a reflectiveness to summertime jams that speak of uninhibited joy and creative camaraderie. Coming on the heels of their acclaimed earlier albums that showed preternaturally talented songwriting from such young artists\, now the songs have caught up with their lives. DESCRIPTION:At this double bill show you are in for a treat with 2 veteran Columbus singer/songwriters! The show will start with the lovely Donna Mogavero doing a duo set with her drummer Dave Fowler & end with Lisa Gain & her full band the Rusty Silos.  \nDonna Mogavero is a singer/songwriter and professional entertainer. Donnas’ musical recognition of 30+ years began in high school. In the early ‘90’s she was recognized and awarded several Columbus Music Awards in categories of outstanding rock and folk vocalist\, artist deserving higher recognition\, acoustic solo performer and recording artist. \nIn the late 1990’s she wrote The Streets Where I Live. This song gave the listener a vivid description of what life looked and felt like in what is now known as “the art district” called The Short North before renovation of the area in early 2000. Shortly after that\, with a little tweaking the song was used by Experience Columbus to promote and market Columbus\, Ohio. She was the first woman Grand Marshall in 2015 for Columbus’s Italian Festival. She had her own Sunday Radio Show called the Acoustic Coffee House on Cd(101) now 92.9 from 1991-’95 and 1998-2000. \nFacebook | Website \nLisa Gain is a critically acclaimed Columbus\, Ohio-born singer-songwriter. Since 1996\, she has been performing music as a solo artist all over Ohio. In the Fall of 2015\, she finally formed her first band with drummer & longtime friend Bryan Rupejko collectively known as Lisa Gain & the Rusty Silos. In June of 22′ classically trained Pianist Megan Rainey has joined them as the keyboard/bass player. The band plays a mix of popular covers as well as her Americana\, Alt-Country\, & Smokey Folk Rock originals. Lisa has had her music played on NPR as she was crowned the first ever Columbus Tiny desk contest winner in 2018. PBS / WOSU has used her music on many different TV shows. Lisa also won an Ohio Music Award for best Americana single for her original song “2 packs of cigarettes” in 2014. DESCRIPTION:America’s Roots music superhero is coming to town. \n“It’s a tough job\, but somebody’s got to do it\,” claims journeyman musician/singer/entertainer Deke Dickerson. As usual\, Dickerson adds dry wit to a serious proclamation of his career intent: keeping America’s roots music alive while interjecting new creativity—a blood transfusion\, if you will—into genres of music that flourished in decades previous. Such efforts have rewarded him with the Ameripolitan “Musician of the Year” award\, among other accolades. \nDeke Dickerson is 52 years old and has been carrying the torch since he was 13\, playing in his first rockabilly band in his hometown of Columbia\, Missouri. After moving to Los Angeles at the age of 22\, he carved out a niche for himself in Tinseltown. In addition to playing in his primary band\, Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics\, as well as his newest group\, Deke Dickerson and the Whippersnappers\, Dickerson has provided rootsy music for a slew of television shows and movie projects (including scoring the music for Johnny Knoxville’s Paramount Pictures film Action Point). \nDickerson was born in St. Louis\, Missouri. After playing in several local rockabilly bands\, Deke formed The Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia\, Missouri. In 1991 he moved to Los Angeles and joined Dave Stuckey to form the Dave & Deke Combo\, a partnership that yielded two albums and a 2005 reunion at major rockabilly festivals. Joining the Ecco-Fonics in 1998\, Deke toured\, signed to HighTone Records and released three albums for the label. His style incorporates country\, alternative country\, rockabilly\, hillbilly\, blues\, western swing and rock ‘n’ roll. \nDickerson writes a regular column in Guitar Player magazine and feature articles in Vintage Guitar magazine and The Fretboard Journal. He also organizes an annual “Guitar Geek Festival” held in Anaheim\, California\, every January\, during the NAMM Show. He owns a Ray Butts EchoSonic\, serial number 24\, a rare amplifier with built-in tape echo that used to belong to Scotty Moore. \nKyle Eldridge is a Country & Western singer songwriter from Louisville\, Kentucky and known as one of the most prominent guitar players in the traditional scene for his Maphis/ Travis picking and Western Jazz styling. \nHe got his start playing in the south where he met Upright Bassist Dakota Collins who brought him to Nashville\, Tennessee. They began playing Honky Tonks on the famous Broadway strip and soon after\, he recorded his debut EP in Los Angeles\, California at Deke Dickerson’s studio. \nHe has played next to such artists as Jim Heath of Reverend Horton Heat\, Shaun Young of High Noon\, Jody & Rose Lee Maphis\, The Lucky Stars\, Dale Watson and many more.  Dubbed the “Heir Apparent” by Larry Collins of The Collins Kids fame\, Kyle Eldridge has been burning his way into the Country & Western scene and has quickly become in demand both domestically and abroad. You can catch his show case at a music festival or a night club near you. \nThe King of Nerd-A-Billy \nCrazy Joe Tritschler – the bespectacled engineer who looks like he works alongside comic strip character Dilbert – is the real show here. Whether he emotes country heartache with “Cryin’ My Eyes Out Over You\,” reinvents Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love” or pleads the bluesy “Kansas City Baby\,” his mid-range voice resonates with sincerity. SUMMARY:An Evening with Evie Ladin\, Adam Schlenker and Hayes Griffin
DESCRIPTION:Banjo player\, singer\, songwriter\, percussive-dancer\, choreographer and square-dance caller\, Evie has always been surrounded by music – credit to her upbringing as daughter of an international folk dance teacher\, and an old-time folk music devotee\, she grew up thinking that playing music\, dancing\, singing with others was what people do.  Though entrenched in the traditional cultural arts of Appalachia\, her home was in New York City\, Baltimore\, now Oakland – in cities\, not mountains. But tradition bearers came through and played in her living room\, with weekends spent at music festivals and house parties.  Evie’s performances\, recordings and teaching reconnect Appalachian music/dance with other African-Diaspora traditions\, and have been heard from A Prairie Home Companion to Lincoln Center\, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to Celtic Connections. Evie tours internationally with Keith Terry and her Evie Ladin Band; and has produced numerous albums and instructional DVDs.  \nAdam Schlenker & Hayes Griffin Duo \n \nEvery once in a while musicians find themselves in a pairing that is greater than the sum of its parts and this is certainly true for Adam Schlenker and Hayes Griffin. Geography kept the duo from working together regularly for several years but 2021 brought Hayes Griffin back to central Ohio and brought the pairing back to life. They quickly began exploring sounds through the American Roots Recap Concert Series where each concert reflects a different style or era in acoustic roots music. One sound that stood out to them was that of The Monroe Brothers and “brothers duos” of the 1930’s in general. Their latest album\, Long Journey Home not only celebrates the brother duo sound but also serves as the beginning of a new era for this duo. They set aside their original compositions for this project and focused on the standard material that helped shape the genre\, paying homage to their roots and setting the bar for projects moving forward. \nHayes Griffin is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator living in Grand Rapids\, MI. Griffin has over a decade’s worth of experience touring with acts like Canadian fiddler April Verch and progressive bluegrass band Newtown\, whose album Harlan Road featured Griffin’s guitar work and debuted at #8 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts. \nReleased in 2020\, “Midwestern Swing” is Griffin’s solo debut and delivers an aural cocktail inspired by the sounds of American country and swing music from the 1930’s\, 40s\, and 50s. Original tracks are set next to “deep cuts” from legendary songwriter/performer Cindy Walker\, Don Reno & Red Smiley\, Tom Delaney\, and Joe Gibson. \nHayes has also developed a presence in the mandolin community with his instructional content on YouTube\, including his weekly series on the electric mandolin playing of Tiny Moore. \nAdam Schlenker is an educator\, performer\, composer and arranger of Acoustic American Roots Music. He was born and raised in southern West Virginia\, and is currently based near Columbus Ohio. Along with performing\, recording and touring\, Adam founded 5th Fret Productions in 2009 combining online\, video based lessons with one on one instruction. He adopted online video conferencing early on as a teaching platform and now his private student base stretches across the US\, throughout Europe and Australia. With 6\,000+ followers and more than 1.2 million views on Youtube\, Adam’s approach to teaching and playing flat picking and Bluegrass guitar has influenced numerous players from all around the globe. He has been featured in and contributed to Flat Picking Guitar Magazine and is also an instructor at a number of music camps including the Nashville Flat Pick Camps and Perry Stenback International Guitar Camp (Denmark). \nIn 2018 Adam took on the role of Coordinator of American Roots & Bluegrass Music Studies at Denison University where he leads the Bluegrass Ensemble\, Teaches a Seminar Course on composing and arranging roots music\, teaches private lessons for guitar and mandolin as well as the History of Bluegrass & American Roots Music course. \nAdam strives to develop music that reflects his influences while attempting to keep the music moving forward. Paying homage to his predecessors like Norman Blake and John Hartford through his own compositions. DESCRIPTION:There’s a purity about Iain Matthews’ voice. And it’s mirrored by the integrity of his career.
The singer-songwriter has never been seduced by fame. His focus has always been on creating music that captivates the ear\, the mind and the heart. 

Born Ian Matthews McDonald\, June 16\, 1946\, in Scunthorpe\, Lincolnshire\, England\, he soared to prominence in 1967\, as a founding member of Fairport Convention. In that pioneering band\, Matthews created exquisite harmonies with first Judy Dyble\, then Sandy Denny. 
After two years\, he left and formed Matthews Southern Comfort. They enjoyed a huge hit with their stirring version of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock.” 
One of the outstanding solo albums Matthews recorded during his years in Los Angeles was 1973’s “Valley Hi\,” produced by Michael Nesmith.
Matthews has fronted such bands as Plainsong\, Hi-Fi\, No Grey Faith\, More Than a Song and a Dutch jazz combo\, The Searing Quartet. After working for a while in A&R\, in 1987 Matthews returned to performing and recording as a solo artist for a time. Mostly based in Austin Texas. \nSince returning to live in Europe in 2000\, he focused again on his now all Dutch ensemble\, Matthews Southern Comfort and his seemingly never ending stream of solo recordings. Matthews latest album releases include “A BAKERS DOZEN”\, his most recent solo effort and “FAKE TAN”\, recorded in Norway two years ago\, with Norwegian icons\, The Salmon Smoker’s. A collaboration with British writer Ian Clayton in 2018 produced his highly praised memoirs\, “Thro my eyes”. Making several music book end of the year lists. \nThese days Matthews prefers to focus more on acoustic solo shows\, where he tells stories and plays many fan favorites from his 50 year career. DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the soul\, spirit and genius of Ray Charles with a special tribute on his birthday\, September 23.  The show is produced and presented by his longtime friend and band member\, bassist Roger Hines. \nRoger began his association with Ray Charles in 1980 when he received a call to fly to L.A.  This began six years of full time touring the world and recording exclusively as bassist for Mr. Charles.  In 1987 Roger returned home to Columbus\, Ohio and continued to get calls from Ray to fill in for short tours and recorded the famous Diet Pepsi commercials and the classic “Spirit of Christmas” and “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind” albums.  This close relationship continued until Brother Ray’s passing on Jun 10\, 2004 \nThe musicians joining in the celebration are Vernon Hairston- vocals and piano; Jon Eshelman- B3 Organ; Stan Smith-guitar; James “Smooth” Elliott – drums.  Featured as “Raelettes” are vocalists Debra James Tucker\, Tia Harris and Vicki Saunders. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

DESCRIPTION:Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month. Seating for The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 1:30 pm\, with showtime at 2:30 pm presenting the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert hosted by Debra James Tucker. The evening show\, hosted by Qamil\, features a variety of Soul bands. In addition to the regular menu\, enjoy a “Soul Food” special created just for this series! \nOctober’s Gospel Soul Brunch features Quan Howell – a native of Columbus Ohio\, and the son of Kathy (Howell) Harper and Joseph Thrower. His vocal gift was discovered at the early age of five when be began singing at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where his grandfather\, the Rev. J.A. Thrower was the pastor. Encouraged by his family\, especially his late aunt\, Peggy Ann Garner\, and his Sunday School Teacher\, Carolyn Holmes he continued to sing and developed a love for hymns. Managed by his late Grandfather\, Quan spent his early years singing at local churches and with two local groups ‘The James Cleveland Youth Chapter’ and ‘The Allen Family.’ At the age of fourteen\, he recorded his first song\, ‘More Like Jesus’ with Ernest Carter.  When he was sixteen\, he decided to leave his family church and join\, ‘Bibleway Church of our Lord Jesus Christ ‘under the pastorship of Bishop Latta. It was there Quan received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  \nDuring his teenage years Quan sang with the ‘Resurrection Mass Choir’\, ‘The Revival Choir’ and formed his own group\, ‘Quan Howell Family and Friends’. He also was the first place winner of several talent shows. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School and Fort Hayes Performing Arts School where he majored in music theory\, jazz\, piano\, and show tunes. Dreaming of a gospel musical career\, he moved to Los Angeles only to return to Columbus a year later. He received his first professional break in 1995 when Darlene Furtel heard his demo and gave it to Assistant Director Billy Steele of the group\, ‘Sounds of Blackness’. It was during their college tour in Columbus that directors\, Gary Hines\, Billy Steele\, and other group members encouraged him to travel to Minneapolis and audition with famous producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for the lead vocal in the group.                                                   \nAs the new lead singer of the\, ‘Sounds of Blackness\,’ Quan and the group recorded several hit songs\, ‘Hold on Change is Comin\,’ ‘Spirit\,’ and ‘God Cares.’ This opened up many opportunities for him to record and do background work with; Ann Nesby\, Rod Stewart\, Johnny Gill\, New Edition\, Salt ‘n’Pepa\, Kirk Franklin\, Tamela Mann and many other famous artist. Also\, he had the pleasure of recording movie soundtracks for\, ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back\,’ ‘Down in the Delta\,’ ‘The Apostle’ and for acclaimed movie producers\, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Walt Disney. \nIn the late 1990s\, Quan decided to pursue his other passion\, the theater. Well known author\, director\, and producer\, Tyler Perry gave Quan his first theatrical performance opportunity. Mr. Perry gave him the chance to play the character\, ‘Rev. Lewis’ in Perry’s first play\, ‘I Know I’ve Been Changed.’ Quan continued to play in Perry’s hit plays\, ‘I Can Do Bad All by Myself’ and ‘Madea’s Family Reunion. \nFollowing a three year break from the entertainment business and a recommitment of his life to the Lord\, Quan became more involved in his local assembly. Under the leadership of Pastor Howard Tillman\, he became the Praise Leader for New Covenant Believers’ Church. \nHis desire to become an independent Christian artist gave birth to another new opportunity. In 2005 Quan Howell produced his first musical project\, “Simple Christmas” and several followed behind….Prophetess Taketa Williams “The Table Is Fixed; and his first freshman project\, “Things Will Get Better”. He has made numerous Television appearances on shows such as BET’s Sunday Best Season 6\, Lifetime Network reality show “Preach”\, TBN’s Praise The Lord and World Harvest’s 120 Live with Pastor Rod Parsley. So many opportunities that have come and Quan still has the energy and excitement to finish what God has allowed him to do. \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence\, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music\, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations. \n  \nFood & Bar: Our full bar and a special brunch menu will be available before and during the show. She is also the coauthor of Miranda Lambert’s Y’all Eat Yet? She lives in Nashville\, Tennessee. \nAlec Wightman’s passion and knowledge of music\, particularly rock and roll\, runs long and deep\, as revealed in his 2021 memoir\, Music in My Life. By day\, Alec is a partner in the national law firm\, BakerHostetler. But during his free time\, his Zeppelin Productions\, Inc. promotes national act concerts at Natalie’s\, and he’s been doing that since 1995. SUMMARY:The Currys
DESCRIPTION:The Currys return to Natalie’s to celebrate the release of their 4th full length album\, Keepers. \nThe Currys have been staking their claim within the Americana music scene since 2013\, when vocalist/guitarist Tommy Curry quit his teaching job and moved to Charlottesville\, Virginia\, to join the harmony-based folk-rock outfit newly formed by brother Jimmy Curry (vocals\, guitar) and cousin Galen Curry (vocals\, bass). The band\, who cut their teeth playing the oyster bars and listening rooms of the Florida Panhandle\, has since written and released two full-length albums: their studio debut Follow (2014)\, called “eye-opening\, but warmly familiar” by Earmilk\, and whose title track is “one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard” (Todd Moe of NCPR); and sophomore effort West of Here (2016)\, with its “tight-as-a-rubber-band” harmonies and “infectious” songwriting (PopMatters). \nFor their third album\, This Side of the Glass (2019)\, The Currys teamed up with producer/guitarist Sam Whedon and engineer Stewart Myers (Jason Mraz\, Parachute) to map new terrain. As ever\, the band’s three-part family harmonies provide the organic\, lived-in feel of roots music\, but the album aspires to a greater variety of form and orchestration than earlier releases. The songs defy any neat categorization: the country nostalgia of “Gulf Coast Home” complements the folk-pop sensibility of “Pin You Down\,” while the guitars and gang vocals of “Soon Enough” pay unmistakable homage to Paul Simon’s “Graceland.” \nLyrically\, This Side of the Glass explores questions of perspective\, an apt consideration for a band featuring three songwriters. Each Curry offers his take on the time-worn threads of life and love\, contributing to the album’s tapestry of introspection and social commentary. He is the last of the Full Grown Men and Roots Rock Royalty. \nA native of Hattiesburg\, Wilder’s 1986 debut album\, It Came from Nashville\, was named one of the 50 Best Southern Rock Albums of All-Time by Paste Magazine in 2018.  Webb was honored to participate in Shemekia Copeland’s recent Grammy nominated LP “Uncivil War” co-writing and performing on the track “She Don’t Wear Pink.”  Webb’s engaging personality led him to become one of America’s first Satellite DJs on XM Radio.  He’s now a DJ and the host of the Americana Countdown show on WMOT radio/Nashville as well as continuing his three decade career as an Electrifying Artist on stages worldwide.  His newest and 11th release is “Night Without Love” on Landslide Records. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.
