DESCRIPTION:After thirty years as one of the world’s leading Celtic Rock bands\, The Young  Dubliners have begun work on their tenth studio album while still maintaining  their busy tour schedule. \nHaving survived the crushing impact of the lockdown on their industry they  have returned stronger than ever and determined to bring their fusion of  Celtic and rock music to as many people as they can. \nThe band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar)\, Chas Waltz (Violin\, keys\, vocals)\,  Justin Pecot (guitar\, vocals)\, Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass  guitar) \nWith a solid line up\, a new batch of songs and the help of their new agency\,  Skyline\, The YD are excited to bring live music back into festivals\, theaters and  clubs around the world. \n“We want to be the band who reminds the world how important a good gig can  be to our sanity after what we’ve all been through” says Roberts. \nFor only the second time the band is looking to its fans to finance the album  instead of a traditional record company. “The business has changed so much  over our lifetime that it no longer makes sense for us to take money from a  label and then owe it all back” adds Roberts. “Making all our supporters co  producers is a far more rewarding way to make a record and allows us to  maintain control all the way”.  The band have teamed up with long time  producer\, Irish born Tim Boland\, and will begin recording in the coming  months. \nThe Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. The set on the  upcoming dates will draw from all their albums and include unreleased new  material. \nIn recent years the Young Dubs have appeared twice on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel  Live\, had songs featured in TV shows (Sons Of Anarchy\, Human Target) and  toured extensively as a headliner and as the opener for such a diverse list of  artists as Collective Soul\, Jethro Tull\, Johnny Lang\, Los Lobos\, Chris Isaak and  many more. \nAlthough the Young Dubliners sound is most commonly called ‘Celtic Rock’\,  that label can often be misleading. The Irish influence is certainly there\, but  it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. \nAfter all\, several of the band members have no Irish roots of any kind. “That  was always the idea”\, explains Roberts “The sound was intended to be a hybrid  because we all come from different backgrounds. Even though I am from  Ireland\, a lot of the music I listened to growing up wasn’t Irish at all\, but when  I got here\, I got homesick and developed a new appreciation for Irish Music. DESCRIPTION:“One of the world’s greatest bands … an American treasure.”  — Entertainment Weekly   \nNRBQ is Terry Adams\, Scott Ligon\, Casey McDonough\, and John Perrin. “NRBQ”\, which stands  for New Rhythm and Blues Quartet\, has often been called a national treasure\, which may be  why the band’s music has attracted legions of devoted fans worldwide\, including Jimi Hendrix\,  Elvis Costello\, Penn & Teller\, Doc Pomus\, R.E.M.\, SpongeBob SquarePants\, Michael J. Pollard\,  Ian McLagan\, Steve Earle\, Drew Carey\, and Nick Lowe\, among many others. NRBQ songs have  inspired cover versions by Bonnie Raitt\, Los Lobos\, Darlene Love\, Dave Edmunds\, She & Him\,  Widespread Panic\, Yo La Tengo\, and more.   \nThe group served as the unofficial “house band” for The Simpsons for Seasons 10-12. They  appeared as zombies in George Romero’s movie Day of the Dead. They have appeared at the  Berlin Jazz Festival\, the Grand Ole Opry\, and Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival. SUMMARY:Illiterate Light + Spirit of the Bear
DESCRIPTION:Illiterate Light thrives on subverting expectations. Though just a duo\, the Harrisonburg\, Virginia-based singer-guitarist Jeff Gorman along with Nashville\, Tennessee-based drummer Jake Cochran make surprisingly pummeling and thoughtful alternative rock. Since the band’s 2015 inception\, they’ve intently focused on their unorthodox live show with Cochran standing behind his kit and Gorman playing synth bass with his foot as he sings and strums his guitar. Fiercely egalitarian and independent\, the two not only split up songwriting duties and arrangement ideas\, they even built bike-powered stages: bringing the fans into the live experience and envisioning a greener future for shows. \nBut with their latest album Sunburned\, out January 27 via Thirty Tigers\, Gorman and Cochran have turned their attention inward to their songwriting and studio craft. It’s their most fully-realized and ambitious LP yet\, one that’s full of immediate songs that update and revolutionize the band’s approach to making music. There are rich keyboard and programmed percussion textures now populating their songs\, as well as soaringly anthemic choruses\, and hefty doses of fuzz. “On our first record\, we were very live-focused and wanted to make sure whatever we were writing was translated in person\,” says Gorman. “Without that crutch\, we could be more adventurous and take more risks. We definitely weren’t timid in the studio.” \n \nSpirit of the Bear is a band with 2 keyboard players (double the national average). They quickly became one of the most fresh and exciting bands to emerge in the Ohio music scene with their unique brand of indie music and have shared tour dates with artists such as Crowded House\, Our Lady Peace\, Red Wanting Blue\, Robert DeLong and more.
