As a companion to the popular Trad Nua Celtic Concert Series at Natalie’s\, Trad Nua Folk Club Night strives to create an evening of Irish and Celtic music in a casual\, “folk club vibe” setting.  Hosted and anchored by acclaimed Irish musicians Mick Broderick and Randy Clepper\, Folk Club Night will feature a rotating lineup including some of the finest players and singers in the Midwest as well as occasional traveling musicians from Ireland. \nJoin Mick\, Randy and Sandy Jones for an exciting mix of traditional tunes and songs. From Dublin\, Ireland\, to Dublin\, Ohio\, Mick Broderick is the renowned bouzouki-player of the Irish supergroup Slide\, also the Noble Call\, and Dave Curley & Mick Broderick.  Columbus-based Randy Clepper is an acclaimed player of the Irish bouzouki\, also tenor banjo\, fingerstyle guitar\, and hammered dulcimer.  Sandy Jones\, fiddle\, has toured with the House Band (Ged Foley\, John Skelton\, Bernie Nau) and is a stalwart\, in-demand fleadh (Irish traditional music and dance event) performer across the Midwest. \nThe Trad Nua Celtic Series at Natalie’s is hosted by acclaimed Irish musicians Randy Clepper and Mick Broderick. For this show\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated.  \nDonna Mogavero is a singer/songwriter and professional entertainer. Donnas’ musical recognition of 30+ years began in high school. In the early ‘90’s she was recognized and awarded several Columbus Music Awards in categories of outstanding rock and folk vocalist\, artist deserving higher recognition\, acoustic solo performer and recording artist. \n In the late 1990’s she wrote The Streets Where I Live. This song gave the listener a vivid description of what life looked and felt like in what is now known as “the art district” called The Short North before renovation of the area in early 2000. Shortly after that\, with a little tweaking the song was used by Experience Columbus to promote and market Columbus\, Ohio. She was the first woman Grand Marshall in 2015 for Columbus’s Italian Festival. She had her own Sunday Radio Show called the Acoustic Coffee House on Cd(101) now 92.9 from 1991-’95 and 1998-2000. \nShe recently released her long awaited fourth original Cd The End Of the Drive\,  a compilation of songs that tell many stories flavored in rock\, country\, folk yet signature Donna Mogavero style. SUMMARY:Bourbon and Blues: Deuce N' a Quarter w/ Joe waters
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s\, with support from the Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA)\, presents Bourbon & Blues Happy Hour featuring Deuce ‘n a Quarter. This monthly series\, held on the second Wednesday of each month\, will include a special guest for each show\, and there will be rotating bourbon and other happy hour specials as well!   \n \nDecember’s special guest is 2023 Columbus Blues Challenge solo winner\, Joe Waters. Joe is a multi talented musician out of Dayton Ohio who plays Blues\, Funk\, Folk\, and Americana music. Joe is a singer and a songwriter. He writes original music and he also pays homage to original blues artist by singing old blues standards and deep cuts. His love for playing music started when he was 5 years old after his parents bought him a harmonica from the Cracker Barrel gift shop. Joe dedicated himself to learning not only the harmonica but the guitar\, drums\, and vocals as well. Joe’s father\, Jack Waters\, has been a musician for 35+ years and Joe expresses his gratitude for his father starting him in his music career. As a duo\, Jack and Joe have performed together for 20 years with 4 albums recorded\, they have placed 1st in three local Ohio blues contest\, and they were semi-finalist in the International Blues Contest. Although Joe’s recent focus has been the new EP he is recording with his band\, he still loves to play music with his father any time he can. The new EP\, by Joe Waters and The Back Porch Band\, shows off Joe’s skills as a musician as well as his skills as a songwriter. Other recent events for Joe Waters include winning the 2022 Telluride Blues Challenge which awarded him a spot on the Durango Blues Train and th e opening show of the 2023 Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. Joe Waters is pouring his creative expression into the EP with his band and a Solo Album that he is excited to share with you all! He hopes to have both the EP and Solo Album done by the end of this year and those who have heard this young man are eagerly awaiting his next creation.  \nDeuce n a Quarter is a celebrated central Ohio based blues band comprised of Andre Scott (drums)\, Martin O. Brown (bass & vocals)\, Keven Jones (keyboard)\, Keith Colbert (guitar) and Brian Peters (lead vocals & harmonica). The band and its members have a list of credits as performing artists and studio musicians. They are two-time Ohio Music Award winners\, two-time Columbus Blues Challenge winners and two-time International Blues Challenge finalists. The band’s forte is its original\, blues-based music where you’ll hear the influence of blues\, country\, soul\, and gospel. They have a long list of noteworthy performances at festivals\, night clubs and music venues…  where they’re always the crowd favorite. \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents Donna Mogavero on Charlie’s Stage as our December happening hour residency every Friday.. For this show\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated.  \nDonna Mogavero is a singer/songwriter and professional entertainer. Donnas’ musical recognition of 30+ years began in high school. In the early ‘90’s she was recognized and awarded several Columbus Music Awards in categories of outstanding rock and folk vocalist\, artist deserving higher recognition\, acoustic solo performer and recording artist. \n In the late 1990’s she wrote The Streets Where I Live. This song gave the listener a vivid description of what life looked and felt like in what is now known as “the art district” called The Short North before renovation of the area in early 2000. Shortly after that\, with a little tweaking the song was used by Experience Columbus to promote and market Columbus\, Ohio. She was the first woman Grand Marshall in 2015 for Columbus’s Italian Festival. She had her own Sunday Radio Show called the Acoustic Coffee House on Cd(101) now 92.9 from 1991-’95 and 1998-2000. \nShe recently released her long awaited fourth original Cd The End Of the Drive\,  a compilation of songs that tell many stories flavored in rock\, country\, folk yet signature Donna Mogavero style. In 2000\, he released the critically acclaimed “Burnin Grooves”\, and the international success of the recording served as the catalyst for regional and national tours. Intimately real and at times hilarious they exude a contagious charm that guarantees you’ll feel good no matter how haunting the melody or biting the message. They’re a sassy\, smokin’\, bone tremblin’ slow-burn Blues balm. \nThey recently released their new album\, “Keep On!” on Blue Heart Records. This international dynamic duo has been touring around the world together since 2010. This year they were at the prestigious Cognac Blues Passion in France\, Heritage Music Blues Festival as well as Beautiful Swamp Blues featuring Dave Specter. They appeared on Songs at the Center\, were finalists in the International Blues Challenge and can be found often at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago.  \nBorn in Normandy\, France in the early 60’s\, Pascal Fouquet began studying classical guitar at eleven and discovered the Blue note a few years later. Since 1980 he’s been a professional musician and never ceases to give homage to his master teachers: B.B. King\, Albert King\, T-Bone Walker\, Kenny Burrell … and many others. A multi-award-winning guitarist he’s had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists including: Diunna Greenleaf\, Dave Specter\, Mike Sanchez\, Steve Clayton\, Russell Jackson\, Candye Kane\, Alex Shultz\, Kid Ramos\, Sax Gordon\, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne and Sean Castello.  \nLil’ Red\, born in Columbus\, Ohio in the late 60’s\, grew up loving Hollywood movie musicals especially Bojangles\, Gene Kelly\, Louis Armstrong\, Ella Fitzgerald and the Nicolas Brothers. Rhythm and groove have always been her deep love. She studied everything in the arts: music\, dance\, acting\, writing\, painting\, martial arts and meditation. As a companion to the popular Trad Nua Celtic Concert Series at Natalie’s\, Trad Nua Folk Club Night strives to create an evening of Irish and Celtic music in a casual\, “folk club vibe” setting.  Hosted and anchored by acclaimed Irish musicians Mick Broderick and Randy Clepper\, Folk Club Night will feature a rotating lineup including some of the finest players and singers in the Midwest as well as occasional traveling musicians from Ireland. \nJoin Randy\, Sandy Jones and Katie Feltz for an exciting mix of traditional tunes and songs. Columbus-based Randy Clepper is an acclaimed player of the Irish bouzouki\, also tenor banjo\, fingerstyle guitar\, and hammered dulcimer. Sandy Jones\, fiddle\, has toured with the House Band (Ged Foley\, John Skelton\, Bernie Nau) and is a stalwart\, in-demand fleadh (Irish traditional music and dance event) performer across the Midwest. A member of the Columbus-based Irish trad trio Fialla\, Katie Feltz is a vocalist\, Irish dancer\, and instrumentalist playing bodhrán and guitar. \nThe Trad Nua Celtic Series at Natalie’s is hosted by acclaimed Irish musicians Randy Clepper and Mick Broderick. DESCRIPTION:Welcoming to the Natalie’s Happening Hour Stage for the first time – Mark Hunter (aka C LA C I – pronounced Selassie I). \nBorn in Freetown Sierra Leone\, Mark moved to boarding school in Ghana at 11.  On Mfantsipim school campus in Ghana\, Mark was a ‘foreign’ student blessed to absorb some of the language and culture of Ghana. From Ghana he came straight to college at Otterbein in Westerville – which was an even more foreign experience – but Columbus became home\, and Mark has lived and performed in Ohio ever since. \nMark is the lead singer of The ARK Band. For this Happy Hour show\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated. Floyd\, a Grammy nominee in 2020\, will perform with Derek DiCenzo on guitar and bass\, and Reggie Jackson on drums. Members of the group add just the right mix of talent and experience to create the elements necessary to produce an appealing sound that goes well beyond live entertainment. \nThe passion with which Floyd plays piano\, organ and keyboards are the result of his natural ability discovered at the age of two\, his love of music\, and years of practice. Whether performing jazz or gospel\, as a soloist\, with a trio or big band\, his feel is unique and inspirational leading him to many distinguished appearances around the world. Bobby has performed extensively in the U.S.\, Canada\, Europe and Japan. Touring events include major jazz festivals\, concert halls\, and numerous night clubs with Ray Charles\, Jeff Tyzik\, The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra\, Dr. John and Byron Stripling.. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s\, with support from the Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA)\, presents Bourbon & Blues Happening Hour. This monthly series\, held on the second Wednesday of each month\, will include a special guest for each show\, and there will be rotating bourbon and other happy hour specials as well!   \nJanuary’s special guest is Bob Hermann. Bob has been playing the blues in the Cincinnati area for more years than he cares to admit. After a decade developing the craft\, he became the guitarist in Sweet Alice Hoskins Unfinished Business blues band. While playing 4 years in Alice’s band he learned from the best\, opening for legends such as Koko Taylor\, Lonnie Brooks and Luther Allison. In 2007 he helped take the band II Juicy to the International Blues Challenge. He also led The SoulFixers to the semi-finals of the IBC in 2013\, 2015\, and 2017. Since 2018 his band Misterman and the Mojo Band have been playing locally and regionally around Cincinnati. \n \nDeuce n a Quarter is a celebrated central Ohio based blues band comprised of Andre Scott (drums)\, Martin O. Brown (bass & vocals)\, Keven Jones (keyboard)\, Keith Colbert (guitar) and Brian Peters (lead vocals & harmonica). The band and its members have a list of credits as performing artists and studio musicians. They are two-time Ohio Music Award winners\, two-time Columbus Blues Challenge winners and two-time International Blues Challenge finalists. The band’s forte is its original\, blues-based music where you’ll hear the influence of blues\, country\, soul\, and gospel. They have a long list of noteworthy performances at festivals\, night clubs and music venues…  where they’re always the crowd favorite. \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. They are an ALL-volunteer corporation depending on the generosity and charity of members to donate their time and energy towards providing programs to support musicians. \nRESERVATIONS: Reservations are strongly encouraged for our free Happening Hour Shows!
