DESCRIPTION:The Trad Nua Celtic Series at Natalie’s is hosted by acclaimed Irish musicians Randy Clepper and Mick Broderick. The series presents a variety of traditional Irish and Celtic acts often juxtaposing old styles with new influences\, local and international artists\, and featuring traditional instruments. Sponsored by the Dublin Irish Celebration. \nWe’re pleased to host Gerry O’Connor – regarded as one of the great fiddle players of his generation. He grew up in Dundalk\, County Louth\, where he was surrounded by a musical family. He took fiddle lessons from his mother\, the great fiddle teacher\, Rose O’Connor. \nGerry won numerous All Ireland titles between 1967 and 1973. He played with John Joe Gardiner in the 1970’s which greatly formed his style; focusing on the fluid\, ornamented\, lyrical fiddling of the great Sligo masters. Gerry’s background in dance provides the influence for his vibrant dance music.  \nGerry has played and recorded with highly regarded groups including Lá Lúgh\, Skylark\, on the Claddagh label. Toured and recorded with members of legendary Irish groups including Planxty\, The Bothy Band\, De Dannan\, Boys of the Lough and The Chieftains. Lá Lúgh’s album\, Brighid’s Kiss was voted album of the year 1996 by Irish Music Magazine\, his solo album\, Journeyman\, was in the top five albums of 2004 by the Irish Times and was counted as a significant milestone recording of the music of the Oriel region of South Ulster. With Nuala Kennedy\, Martin Quinn and Gilles le Bigot\, Gerry released the album Oirialla making the debut at the 2012 Celtic Colours Festival in Cape Breton\, Canada.  \nIn 2018 Gerry was awarded Ceannródai\, the prestigious Bardic Award by Comhaltas for his valued contributions to the Traditional Arts. Also in 2018 he launched is second solo album\, Last Night’s Joy\, and published The Rose in the Gap-Dance Music for Oriel from the Donnellan Collection.  \nGerry is currently touring and has recorded six albums with the celebrated Irish-Canadian group The Irish Rovers.  \nPlaying along with Gerry – Central-Ohio-based Randy Clepper is an in-demand player of the Irish bouzouki\, also tenor banjo\, fingerstyle guitar\, and hammered dulcimer\, who performs with many artists including John Sherman\, Mick Broderick and Bella Issakova. \nRick and Hillary Wagner and Jim’s Red Pants. This duo performs historic American fiddle tunes\, Irish\, Scottish\, and English country dance music as well as original and contemporary folk music on fiddle\, bouzouki\, tenor guitar\, mandolins\, tenor and 5 string banjo\, flute and whistle\, vocals\, piano\, and more. They are located in Dayton\, Ohio and perform at historical events\, libraries\, weddings\, house concerts\, municipal concerts\, pretty much anywhere! Between his record label\, jingle production company and booking agency\, the main thing he likes to do is sing and play the guitar! \nDelyn Christian sings each song as if it were his last\, combining raw energy and true soul with every song he performs\, striving to touch the heart and soul of the audience. A singer/songwriter/musician who has been performing in the central Ohio area for over 30 years\, he has relocated to the central Tennessee area and performs in venues in both states. This monthly series\, held on the second Wednesday of each month\, will include a special guest for each show\, and there will be rotating bourbon and other happy hour specials as well!  \nNatalie’s Grandview presents Lil’ Red & The Rooster on Charlie’s Stage. For this happening hour performance\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated. Jump-up and shake a tail feather\, or two\, ‘cause Lil’ Red & The Rooster will roll out some smooth retro modern Blues just for you. Intimately real and at times hilarious they exude a contagious charm that guarantees you’ll feel good no matter how haunting the melody or biting the message. They’re a sassy\, smokin’\, bone tremblin’ slow-burn Blues balm. \nThey recently released their new album\, “Keep On!” on Blue Heart Records. This international dynamic duo has been touring around the world together since 2010. This year they were at the prestigious Cognac Blues Passion in France\, Heritage Music Blues Festival as well as Beautiful Swamp Blues featuring Dave Specter. They appeared on Songs at the Center\, were finalists in the International Blues Challenge and can be found often at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago.  \nBorn in Normandy\, France in the early 60’s\, Pascal Fouquet began studying classical guitar at eleven and discovered the Blue note a few years later. Since 1980 he’s been a professional musician and never ceases to give homage to his master teachers: B.B. King\, Albert King\, T-Bone Walker\, Kenny Burrell … and many others. A multi-award-winning guitarist he’s had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists including: Diunna Greenleaf\, Dave Specter\, Mike Sanchez\, Steve Clayton\, Russell Jackson\, Candye Kane\, Alex Shultz\, Kid Ramos\, Sax Gordon\, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne and Sean Castello.  \nLil’ Red\, born in Columbus\, Ohio in the late 60’s\, grew up loving Hollywood movie musicals especially Bojangles\, Gene Kelly\, Louis Armstrong\, Ella Fitzgerald and the Nicolas Brothers. Rhythm and groove have always been her deep love. She studied everything in the arts: music\, dance\, acting\, writing\, painting\, martial arts and meditation. She graduated from Fort Hayes Performing Arts High School for theater\, holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University.  \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. DESCRIPTION:Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition  and details the hopes\, loves\, losses of those he observes\, turning their stories into luminous pieces of  music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced  him\, everyone from Joni Mitchell\, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly  his greatest inspiration\, Woody Guthrie\, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and  renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless. Born and raised in Maine\, Paul  attended Boston College on a track scholarship and in the evenings became a fixture on the city’s open  mic circuit. After winning a Boston Acoustic Underground songwriter competition\, he caught the ear of  folk luminary Bill Morrissey\, who produced his indie album Say Something in 1993. This led to a seven album contract with Rounder Records and the 1994 album\, Stories.  \nHis songs have appeared in several blockbuster films (Me\, Myself\, and Irene; Shallow Hal\, Hall Pass) and  have been covered by award winning country artists (Sugarland\, Kristian Bush\, Jack Ingram). Through a  steady succession of albums of his own – a remarkable 23 releases so far – and a constant touring  presence around the world\, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans. DESCRIPTION:CLAVE SONIC is a Latin-Jazz-Fusion trio featuring long time Grandview Heights resident Dean Marcellana on keyboard\, Bradley Mellen on Electric Cello and Nathan Parker on drums and percussion.  The group combines intelligent original songwriting\, with infectious Latin and funk grooves to create an exciting\, captivating\, and entertaining experience for listeners. \nClave Sonic brings their high octane groove-based jazz set reminiscent of the sounds of Medeski\, Martin and Wood meets Chick Corea and Stevie Wonder\, mixed with the montuno and tumbao rhythms of early Afro-Cuban music. The Latin jazz influence in the band’s music comes from composer and pianist Dean Marcellana\, who spent many years in the Boston area performing with some of the top jazz and Latin jazz musicians in the city. That experience paved the way for a variety of original compositions rooted in jazz and R&B\, with a “Latin” feel\, hence the band’s inclusion of “Clave” in the name. Marvin has recorded as a background vocalist on several albums in the gospel\, R&B and pop field and appeared in 33 gospel stage plays over the last 25 years. In addition to his music career\, he is now an advocate for organ donations as a kidney transplant recipient. Above all\, it is Marvin’s desire to always make the Lord smile with his gift and can never take the gift for granted \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence\, has been visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music\, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations. \nSoul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month and starts with a delicious Brunch from 11 am until 1 pm with no admission fee. Seating for The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 1:30 pm\, with showtime at 2:30 pm presenting the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert. The evening show\, hosted by Paisha Thomas\, features a variety of Soul bands. In addition to the regular menu\, enjoy a “Soul Food” special created just for this series! \n Food & Bar: Our full bar and a special brunch menu will be available before and during the show.
