SUMMARY:Bourbon & Blues: Deuce n a Quarter featuring Bob Hermann
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s\, with support from the Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA)\, presents Bourbon & Blues Happening Hour. This monthly series\, held on the second Wednesday of each month\, will include a special guest for each show\, and there will be rotating bourbon and other happy hour specials as well!   \nJanuary’s special guest is Bob Hermann. Bob has been playing the blues in the Cincinnati area for more years than he cares to admit. After a decade developing the craft\, he became the guitarist in Sweet Alice Hoskins Unfinished Business blues band. While playing 4 years in Alice’s band he learned from the best\, opening for legends such as Koko Taylor\, Lonnie Brooks and Luther Allison. In 2007 he helped take the band II Juicy to the International Blues Challenge. He also led The SoulFixers to the semi-finals of the IBC in 2013\, 2015\, and 2017. Since 2018 his band Misterman and the Mojo Band have been playing locally and regionally around Cincinnati. \n \nDeuce n a Quarter is a celebrated central Ohio based blues band comprised of Andre Scott (drums)\, Martin O. Brown (bass & vocals)\, Keven Jones (keyboard)\, Keith Colbert (guitar) and Brian Peters (lead vocals & harmonica). The band and its members have a list of credits as performing artists and studio musicians. They are two-time Ohio Music Award winners\, two-time Columbus Blues Challenge winners and two-time International Blues Challenge finalists. The band’s forte is its original\, blues-based music where you’ll hear the influence of blues\, country\, soul\, and gospel. They have a long list of noteworthy performances at festivals\, night clubs and music venues…  where they’re always the crowd favorite. \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. They are an ALL-volunteer corporation depending on the generosity and charity of members to donate their time and energy towards providing programs to support musicians. \nRESERVATIONS: Reservations are strongly encouraged for our free Happening Hour Shows!

DESCRIPTION:Bursting up from amongst the cornfields of the midwest United States\, Waves Colectivo (formerly Waves de Aché) blends grooves from Afro-Cuban traditions with the freedom of modern jazz\, topped with the intensity of American rock.    \nLed by bassist Will Strickler\, a proponent of a “no holds barred” approach to music\, Waves Colectivo has performed across the United States and recently wrapped up a three year residency as the house band for Jazz Wednesdays at Brothers Drake Meadery.  This concert features Logan Moore on saxophone\, Ben Maloney on piano\, Travis Aukerman on drums and Eric “The Fish” Paton on percussion.  \nWith three studio albums under their belt\, Waves Colectivo set sights on recording a live album\, seeking to capture the energy that can only come from performing with a living\, breathing audience in the room.   \nThanks to the 2024 Ohio Arts Council Artist Opportunities Grant Award\, this live album recording is free for the public to attend but reservations are encouraged.  \nThe band will perform two of the same set back to back (beginning at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM) for recording purposes.\nYour reservation saves your seat for both sets. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

With his mastery of the baritone guitar\, he infuses the band’s sound with a unique depth. Complemented by Jen “Lil’ Red” Milligan on drums and vocals and Dwight Cartier on bass\, the trio crafts blues that strike a harmonious balance between simplicity and sophistication. Roosterphonic’s feel-good blues resonates with retro charm and is a testament to Pascal’s 50 years of experience. \nThis trio is heading down to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge representing the Huntington Blues Society. He’s a guitarist’s guitar player.  \nBorn in Normandy\, France in the early 60’s\, Pascal began studying classical guitar at eleven and discovered the Blue note a few years later. Since 1980 he’s been a professional musician and never ceases to give homage to his master teachers: B.B. King\, Albert King\, T-Bone Walker\, Kenny Burrell … and many others. A multi-award winning guitarist he’s had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists including: Diunna Greenleaf\, Dave Specter\, Mike Sanchez\, Steve Clayton\, Russell Jackson\, Candye Kane\, Alex Shultz\, Kid Ramos\, Sax Gordon\, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne and Sean Castello.
