Check out their website!  \nAdam Remnant: \nAdam Remnant is a songwriter\, musician\, producer\, and educator who lives and works in Southeast Ohio.  Adam got his start fronting the folk-rock band Southeast Engine. As the principal singer and songwriter of the band\, Remnant and his bandmates garnered critical acclaim from publications such as NPR\, Paste Magazine\, Pitchfork\, American Songwriter\, and many more. Remnant continues making music under his own name today. Adam has released the 2016 EP\, When I Was a Boy\, as well as the 2018 LP\, Sourwood. Remnant’s signature baritone voice and literary songwriting act as the focal point in the productions. Check out their website! \nCaitlin Kraus: \nOriginally from Columbus\, OH\, Caitlin Kraus is a singer and songwriter living in Athens\, OH. Kraus has performed her music solo and with a band over the past decade. Her music is melodic\, largely lyric-based\, and falls within indie-folk/alternative genres.  In 2020\, Caitlin completed her first full-length album What Rises followed by the 2023 release Gone Beyond. DESCRIPTION:Singer/songwriter Lydia Brownfield’s latest project\, Albatross City\, is an audio-visual\, multi-media event showcasing Lydia’s original songs accompanied by original video. The three-piece ensemble includes Ty Landrum on a standing “cocktail” drum kit equipped with acoustic and electronic percussion\, and Jeff Dalrymple and Lydia switching between bass guitar\, and a variety of other guitars. \nThe songs were written with purpose and are each accompanied by a short film/video created by Lydia. The show is crafted with close attention to detail including pre-recorded sound effects setting moods\, and for changing of instruments among the group. Their sound is a twist of swampy pop\, and indie singer/songwriter\, with electronic undertones. \nStill with catchy hooks and the memorable choruses that Lydia is known for\, the songs feel explicitly poignant\, and deal with the often bipolar mix of emotion that is our collective human experience. DESCRIPTION:Join a night of original music from area singer songwriters hosted by Ron Freeman.  \nShiloh Hawkins is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for her organic songwriting approach\, emotive vocals and captivating storytelling. A native of Youngstown\, Ohio\, her musical career has taken her as far away as Austin\, Texas. Being in a new city inspired Shiloh to create tracks such as “Put the Coffee On” and “Honey Bee\,” but the pull of home brought her back to Ohio where she has settled in Columbus. Her latest album\, “When You Love A Traveler” is an evolutionary breakaway from previous work\, percussive and raw\, drawing inspiration from 1960s and 70s Americana\, Folk\, Jazz\, and Country. The 13 track LP was released in March 2019. A new record is in the works and will be released in Spring of 2024 with Hawkins’ band\, Common Blue Violets.  \nLuke Harris has been writing and performing in Columbus\, Ohio for over 15 years. He is currently the frontman for both Playing to Vapors and Summon Luke. His music is a blend of rock\, pop\, alternative and occasionally folk with fantastical and tragic lyrics. His band Summon Luke has released multiple singles in the past year\, most recently the song “Caroline”. \nRon Freeman is a singer/songwriter and member of Lost Orchards\, a Columbus\, Ohio Americana band with two EPs: “Deaf Kids” and “Assassins”\, a concept record about the love affairs of presidential assassins. Ron’s songs have been described as “strange\,” “cerebral\,” and “like a really good ice cream cone that melts faster than you can eat it.” With a fresh perspective and a lyric-driven approach\, Ron is a natural storyteller who chronicles unique subjects like the invention of the high five\, the closing of restaurants\, and Civil War era religious cults. DESCRIPTION:Much has changed for singer-songwriter Alice Peacock since her last solo studio album\, 2009’s Love Remains. She’s had three kids\, moved to Cincinnati and … gotten 10 years older. “Feel the weight of the world on my shoulders/ Am I wiser or am I just older?” she sings on “Dry Spell\,” from her new collection\, Minnesota. The record suggests that despite her “wondering what all is yet to be\,” she has indeed attained a measure of wisdom. \nShe uses the word “midlife” but does not follow it by “crisis.” She views her current outlook more as an awareness of life’s fragility and an appreciation of its sweetness. “Being a parent\, I don’t know that I could love any more than I do right now\,” she says\, “so I’ve also never been more vulnerable. I have everything to lose.” \nFurther evidence of this contemplative spirit can be heard on album closer “God Be Near Me\,” about which Peacock says\, “I wrote a hymn out of nowhere! I was sitting at the piano one day going\, ‘Am I completely screwing this all up?’ And I found myself thinking\, ‘Help me to stay focused on love.’” The lyrics ask\, “Help me to surrender/ And love the world the way you do/ Now and ever after/ And live in love the way you do.” \nOn Minnesota\, Peacock explores an understanding of love\, in particular\, that transcends hearts and flowers\, Sturm und Drang. “Resting in the Quiet” acknowledges “a glimpse of the divine” in unspoken eloquence: “We don’t have to talk about it/ We don’t have to say a word/ We can wrap ourselves in silence/ Cause I’ve already heard/ Everything your eyes are saying.” \nA departure from romantic love\, “Free and Wild” is a lullaby sung from the point of view of someone “with a love so fierce” it hurts. Peacock likens parenthood to “going through life with your heart outside your body.” \nThe album’s title track is a love song to her home state\, where her family spends their summers. “I’ve lived in Illinois and Tennessee and now Ohio and I love them all\, but there’s something about home … As soon as I get back to Minnesota and hear the birds and smell the air\, I feel\, ‘This is mine; this is me.’” In the song she recalls sitting in “sacred silence\,” watching “the electric light show playing wide across the sky.” \n“Things feel very sacred to me at this time in my life\,” Peacock confides. “You reach an age where you begin to lose people. In 2003\, Rolling Stone Magazine hailed them as a band on the rise\, while Manda was voted as one of the Top 100 Women in Rock by the readers of UK magazine – Miss Minx. Manda has shared the stage with celebrated musicians such as Elvis Costello\, Billy Bob Thornton\, Phantom Planet\, and the Killers\, among others. \nManda’s musical compositions have been featured in various motion pictures\, including the low-budget thriller Creepies (2003) and the 1980s-style movie Nail Polish (2006). Through a  steady succession of albums of his own – a remarkable 23 releases so far – and a constant touring  presence around the world\, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans. Sponsored by the Dublin Irish Celebration. \nWe’re pleased to host Gerry O’Connor – regarded as one of the great fiddle players of his generation. He grew up in Dundalk\, County Louth\, where he was surrounded by a musical family. He took fiddle lessons from his mother\, the great fiddle teacher\, Rose O’Connor. \nGerry won numerous All Ireland titles between 1967 and 1973. He played with John Joe Gardiner in the 1970’s which greatly formed his style; focusing on the fluid\, ornamented\, lyrical fiddling of the great Sligo masters. Gerry’s background in dance provides the influence for his vibrant dance music.  \nGerry has played and recorded with highly regarded groups including Lá Lúgh\, Skylark\, on the Claddagh label. Toured and recorded with members of legendary Irish groups including Planxty\, The Bothy Band\, De Dannan\, Boys of the Lough and The Chieftains. Lá Lúgh’s album\, Brighid’s Kiss was voted album of the year 1996 by Irish Music Magazine\, his solo album\, Journeyman\, was in the top five albums of 2004 by the Irish Times and was counted as a significant milestone recording of the music of the Oriel region of South Ulster. With Nuala Kennedy\, Martin Quinn and Gilles le Bigot\, Gerry released the album Oirialla making the debut at the 2012 Celtic Colours Festival in Cape Breton\, Canada.  \nIn 2018 Gerry was awarded Ceannródai\, the prestigious Bardic Award by Comhaltas for his valued contributions to the Traditional Arts. Also in 2018 he launched is second solo album\, Last Night’s Joy\, and published The Rose in the Gap-Dance Music for Oriel from the Donnellan Collection.  \nGerry is currently touring and has recorded six albums with the celebrated Irish-Canadian group The Irish Rovers.  \nPlaying along with Gerry – Central-Ohio-based Randy Clepper is an in-demand player of the Irish bouzouki\, also tenor banjo\, fingerstyle guitar\, and hammered dulcimer\, who performs with many artists including John Sherman\, Mick Broderick and Bella Issakova. \nRick and Hillary Wagner and Jim’s Red Pants. DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview and Zeppelin Productions are pleased to present Wiliam Matheny for a special evening on Charlie’s Stage.  \nMany artists find inspiration on the road\, but few do so with the keen eye and narrative talents of William Matheny. The West Virginia-based singer-songwriter finds inspiration for his brand of Appalachian Americana at truck stops and hotel lobbies\, filtering his experiences through a perspective that’s equal parts curious and compassionate. On That Grand\, Old Feeling\, Matheny shares that perspective across nine new tracks. \nThat Grand\, Old Feeling follows Matheny’s 2017 album Strange Constellations\, which drew critical acclaim from outlets like NPR and PopMatters. Matheny wrote and completed That Grand\, Old Feeling before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020\, recording the LP with producer Bud Carroll at Trackside Studio in Point Pleasant\, WV. Carroll joins the proceedings on guitar\, with Adam L. Meisterhans (guitar)\, Clint Sutton (drums)\, Jeremy Batten (piano\, organ)\, John R. Miller (bass\, vocals) and J. Tom Hnatow (pedal steel) rounding out the band. All of these fantastic players are fellow West Virginians and Matheny’s longtime friends. \nOpener “Late Blooming Forever” is one of Matheny’s longest gestating songs\, as he began writing the track\, which grapples with moving on from youth and coming into one’s own\, when he was 19. A gently driving beat and melodic hook give the song a propulsive feel\, mimicking the sense of motion in Matheny’s image-rich lyrics. “I finished it 15 years later\, after I’d stayed in some places a little longer than I’d intended to\, both physically and emotionally\,” he explains. “It’s sort of a hymn to hesitation.” \n“Every Way to Lose” is a slick\, moody rocker with shades of Drive-By Truckers and Magnolia Electric Co. Matheny wrote the song after a drive from Muscle Shoals to Nashville piqued his interest in Alabama’s Walls of Jericho trailhead\, with that image anchoring the opening lyric. The almost fatalistic nature of that song leads fittingly into “Bird of Youth\,” which Matheny wrote the night before recording it and whose roots trace back to Matheny’s days playing cover songs with his father at the local Elks Lodge and his time working in his family’s video store. The COVID-19 shutdown\, and its subsequent shuttering of the live music industry\, also led Matheny to ponder his own role in a profession that\, at the time\, felt suddenly obsolete\, a feeling that creeps into the track’s meditation on the passage of time. \n“If I could meet an elevator operator\, I feel like I would know what their experience was like\, you know\,” he says\, with a laugh. “They don’t have a gig. I don’t have a gig. In the same way\, I wish there were some Vaudeville musicians still around who had to cancel all of their dates for the Spanish flu. Do you think any of them are still alive?” \n“Grand Old Feeling” is the LP’s thesis statement of sorts\, drawn from Matheny’s efforts to recapture the electric feeling of youthful passion\, or “the singing sparrow in the marrow of [his] bones.” “They had written ‘good luck’ in blue party cups in the holes of the chain link fence\,” Matheny sings at the track’s open\, and with that hopeful image he explores the many thrills and heartaches of life as a touring musician. The song is also a showcase for Matheny’s complicated relationship with his home state\, which permeates the rest of the LP. \n“I feel like West Virginia is a main character in a lot of this music\, too\, the way that people talk about certain movies being a love letter to New York or whatever\,” he says. “The lyrics about the Go-Mart cassettes\, the unhappily married folks at the Elks Lodge or the Bernard Coffindaffer crosses you see all over the Southeast. He was a West Virginia guy and by all accounts a very prickly hang.” \n“If You Could Only See Me Now” is Matheny trying his hand at writing a standard\, or\, as he describes it\, writing a song “where you don’t see any fingerprints on the glass.” “Heartless People” inspires a simple but potent response from Matheny\, who sums up the track thusly: “Don’t let the bastards get you down. It’s a cold world out there.” \nIf there’s a centerpiece to That Grand\, Old Feeling\, it’s “Down at the Hotel Canfield\,” a track inspired by the Dubuque\, IA\, hotel infamous for a 1946 fire that killed dozens. Rebuilt in 2013\, the hotel’s surroundings are as eerie as its backstory\, as Matheny describes a visit to the town as being “super creepy.” The song itself is its own kind of ghost story\, as Matheny admits\, “I ain’t what I used to be.” Like “Bird of Youth\,” “Hotel Canfield” came to Matheny the night before he and his band went into the studio to begin work on the LP. \n“We stayed there after a gig and we had a horrible night’s sleep\,” he says. “And we came back a few months later and played at the same club. And we were all really excited to get back there because we were really fascinated with the place. I was talking to the guy at the club and we were like\, ‘Man\, we had a horrible night’s sleep. What is the deal with that place? It feels really weird. Is it?’ ‘Oh\, yeah. One of the worst hotel fires in America happened at that place.’” \nFans of Matheny’s will recognize the song “Christian Name\,” a track he released\, with the Centro-matic cover “Flashes and Cables” as its b-side\, as a single in 2018. For That Grand\, Old Feeling\, Matheny revisited the track and gave it an updated studio treatment\, with its road-weary message fitting well with the rest of the album. \n“I wanted to give it more of a proper home on an actual record\,” he says. “It’s very much a tour song\, the kind of road music you write while you’re out there doing it. We released our first record in 2017 and then hit the road really\, really hard on some spectacularly grueling\, money-losing\, soul-crushing tours. It’s the kind of thing you have to do when you’re getting a new venture off the ground. Most people don’t get a shortcut around that.” \nThat Grand\, Old Feeling closes with “Stranger’s Voice\,” a groovy rocker that name-checks Matheny’s like-minded contemporary John R. Miller and\, thematically\, picks up where “Christian Name” left off. “We were in a really\, really hard spot\, with barely any money for gasoline and no money for food\,” he says. “We were on the ‘vegan chili circuit’ there for a while\, playing in a lot of backrooms of backrooms of art galleries\, that kind of thing. That one’s another road tune. And it’s mostly about how you can’t really go home again\, either.” \nWhile That Grand\, Old Feeling is a document of Matheny’s own journey as a seeker\, he hopes that the album can inspire anyone else out there searching for meaning in their own lives\, whether they’re searching at a truck stop or in an album of old photographs. “I feel like I’ve just been trying to recapture that youthful excitement my entire life\, trying to regain that clarity and that feeling of purpose\,” he says. “And it comes and goes. I mostly seem to be looking for it at gas stations and rest areas and at gigs. But I think a lot of people are probably looking for it in a lot of places like that\, too. DESCRIPTION:“I try to take things I love and use them in a new way\,” said triple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Peter Case of his 16th solo album Doctor Moan. Case brings his considerable songwriting ability to an 11-song collection\, largely performed on piano\, including his first solo recorded instrumental. Released by Sunset Blvd Records on March 31\, Case’s piano-based songs are emotionally\, sonically and stylistically rich. \nAs a founding member of the early punk era trio The Nerves\, in 1977 Case toured the nation sharing bills with the Ramones\, Mink DeVille\, Pere Ubu\, and Devo. The Nerves single “Hanging on the Telephone\,” was covered by Blondie. In 1979\, Case formed the Plimsouls\, a record-breaking live act in California\, recording albums for Planet/Elektra and Geffen. Their independent single\, “A Million Miles Away\,” entered the Billboard charts and remains a garage rock standard\, performed by bands around the world. The band performed in the cult classic film Valley Girl and the Nerves and Plimsouls timeless teenage rock ‘n’ roll continues to appeal to fans of each new generation. \nAfter the Plimsouls\, Case rediscovered his musical roots on his self-titled solo debut\, produced by T Bone Burnett. The New York Times declared Peter Case the best album of 1986. It earned a five-star Rolling Stone review and a Grammy nomination. DESCRIPTION:Sometimes the apple falls far from the tree. Even without Comhaltas\, conservatories\, or competitions\, 3 musicians in Central Ohio who had come to love Celtic music came together to form Fialla. Their abilities to pick up traditional instruments and play them with grace seemed to be steeped in their DNA. All multi-instrumentalists\, and one a dancer\, they present Celtic music so faithfully one thinks they hear the accents of the old country. Finding their footing in the local scene\, including performing at the Dublin Irish Festival\, the band has grown to be a first-class representative of Celtic music. Their selection of songs and tunes and the way they arrange the pieces has a freshness devoid of the usual stigma facing up-and-coming artists. Fialla finds songs that intrigue them\, and plays with them until they make them their own. But with the success of her latest release\, Royal Traveller\, Raines  has stepped into the spotlight as a songwriter and singer as well.  \nRoyal Traveller was nominated for a GRAMMY® in 2020 and was produced by Compass  Records co-founder and renowned banjoist\, Alison Brown.  \nCurrently\, Missy is touring with her own band\, Missy Raines & Allegheny\, a bluegrass  ensemble featuring banjo\, fiddle\, mandolin\, guitar\, and bass. With more than a nod to her deep  bluegrass roots\, Allegheny offers Missy fertile ground to bring a together a lifetime of  traditional inspiration along with her unique approach to string band music.   \nAn experienced teacher\, Missy has been teaching bass at workshops and music camps all  over the world since 1998 and also heads the ArtistsWorks Academy of Bluegrass School of  Bluegrass Bass\, an online learning platform that features its’ trademarked Video Exchange technology  \nIn 1998\, Raines became the first woman to win IBMA’s Bass Player of the Year award. Her album\, Royal Traveller\, highlights this particular piece of Raines’ history with the stand  out track “Swept Away”\, which features the first 5 women to win IBMA instrumentalist awards\,  Raines\, Brown\, Sierra Hull\, Becky Buller\, and Molly Tuttle.   \n“Swept Away” was named 2018 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year.   \nMissy’s version of the iconic Flatt & Scruggs “Darlin Pal(s) of Mine”\, (from the same album)\,  was named 2019 Instrumental Recording of the Year by the IBMA.
